MTH 426/426A ‐ Mathematical Modelling Sem II, 2013‐14 The course is DE for the students of Department of Math & Stat or a Minor of Y11 batch students from other branches. References: 1. Mathematical Modelling – Murthy, Page and Rodein (in Reserve Collection of the library) – this will be used for major portion of the course. 2. Principles of Mathematical Modeling – Clive Dyne 3. Mathematical Modelling – R. Illner, C. Sean Bohun, S. McCollum, T van Roode – AMS publication. Course evaluation: (a) Mid term exam 15% (b) Group Project 20% * (c) Individual project 20% * (d) Assignments 15% (e) End sem exam 30% * The write up to be submitted by March 31, 2014 Note – To pass the course 35% marks will be required and A grade is assured for those getting 70% or more.
