Unusual Use of the LSV 2000 in the field of the 3D mobile data acquisition

The LSV 2000 provide the basis for the noncontact measurement method in the
field of railway surveying and allows the precise determination and the
assignment of the acquisition data. Especially at the measurement in the arear of
the rail track the exact geopositioning is a fundamental factor for the evaluation
of 3D data sets or camera images. By using the LSV 2000 a constant and precise
positioning of the data is performed. The LSV 2000 is used to get an accuracy in
position of 5 millimetres. This means that every 5 millimetres of path length can
be assigned to the image data. Due to the specifications of the LSV 2000 it is
possible to achieve a range accuracy of 0.10% of the total measured distance and
has therefore a high accuracy of the positioning and the geopositioning of the
measured data.
