Invitation
The
Third
International
Conference
on
Energy
and
Environment-Related
Nanotechnology (ICEEN 2014) will be held on October 24-27, 2014 in Beijing, China.
The ICEEN began in 2006 in Beijing. Since then we have organized two successful
conferences under the theme of Energy, Environment and Nanotechnology. Energy and
environment are two key issues for the sustainable development and well-being of
human being, and are the current and long-term focuses of science and technology. The
importance of nanoscience and technology has been well documented by both academic
and industrial communities worldwide. It is believed that breakthroughs in nanoscience
and technology will change all aspects of human life in such diverse areas as energy,
environment, biomedicine, sensing, information and security.
The ICEEN aims to provide a successive forum for researchers and educators from all
over the world to exchange ideas and state-of-the-art research and development and
identify research needs and opportunities in these emerging fields. This conference will
cover a wide range of interdisciplinary and current research topics such as
nanomaterials, nanofabrication, solar energy conversion, electrochemical conversion
and energy storage, biological energy and biomass transformation, hydrogen production
and storage, photocatalysis and environmental catalysis, contaminated water treatment,
indoor air purification, air pollution control, soil treatment, CO2 capture, nanomaterials
and human health.
ICEEN 2014 will include plenary speeches, invited presentations, contributed
presentations and poster presentations.
Beijing is a modern capital with an ancient history. She is celebrated for her attractive
natural surroundings, historic sites and cultural monuments. One can enjoy the Great
Wall, the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven as well as Birds’
Nest, Water Cube, and many more. Meanwhile, with her numerous research institutes,
universities and collegess, Beijing is also the scientific and educational center of China.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of ICEEN 2014, it is my great pleasure to invite
all the interested researchers and educators in the international scientific community to
join us at ICEEN 2014 in Beijing and share the excitement of good science for the benefit
of mankind.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Beijing in October ICEEN 2014.

About Beijing
Beijing, the capital city of China, is an ancient city with a long history of 3000 years. The
long history leaves Beijing lots of precious cultural treasures, including the Great Wall,
Summer Palace, Forbidden City, Tiantan, etc. that have already been well-known to the
world. However, the authentic old Beijing life is probably best represented by its many
teahouses, temple fairs, Hutongs and square courtyards, the Peking Opera and the
different styles of Chinese cuisine. Now Beijing is a modern and fashionable city complete
with a full 21st Century vitality, similar to other great metropolis elsewhere in today's world.
Particularly, the success of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games has brought great
changes to Beijing, strengthening its international status in the world.
