MICHIGAN SCOTTISH RITE FUND
Thank you to those who have contributed to the Michigan Scottish Rite Fund (MSRF) over the years. Michigan
Scottish Rite Masons can be very proud that they annually assist in providing scholarships for students to
pursue their life goals in academic excellence.
The MSRF uses only the interest and dividends from our investment portfolio for scholarships. Through your
continued support we will continue to provide funding for scholarships to
deserving students.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation of any amount, and send
a contribution made payable to the “Michigan Scottish Rite Fund”. For
your convenience, you may now make a contribution via our Michigan COD
website located at:
aasr-mi.org or your gift may be sent to the Secretary of the Michigan Council
of Deliberation at:
Timothey S. Marshbanks, 33°
907 Monroe St.
Dearborn, MI 48124
Please indicate “Valley of Detroit” as the amount of scholarship funding allocated to each Valley is determined
by a formula based on the number of gifts and total contributions received from each Valley.
Thank you for your support. Your gift will continue to play a positive role in the future of deserving students.

Children’s Dyslexia Center News
Spring is always busy at the Children’s Dyslexia Center. We formally evaluate all our students which helps
us monitor how everyone is progressing. We also start planning for next fiscal year and want to mention a
few ways to help the Children’s Dyslexia Center.
The first one is ongoing and a free, easy way to help us out while doing routine grocery shopping! We
participate in Kroger Community Rewards and enrollment in the rewards program is for one year. If you
selected our center in the past, it’s time to re-enroll. Whether you shop at Kroger all the time or once in a
while we can still benefit.
It’s simple! Create an account at Kroger.com (if you don’t have one already) or sign in to your existing account and register your Kroger Plus Card with the Kroger Community Rewards Program. Enter our name
- Children’s Dyslexia Center of Southeastern Michigan or our number (84842) -- and you are signed up.
Our Center will get rewards on everything you buy, every time you shop at Kroger! It’s that easy!
A few things to remember: Enrollment only lasts one year. Once you are enrolled,
there is a small note at the bottom of each receipt that states: Kroger Community
Rewards and it will say “at your request, Kroger is donating to Children’s Dyslexia
Center of Southeastern Michigan.” We get checks every quarter, but do not know
who is participating, so the note on the receipt lets you know that you are enrolled.
Coming up on Monday, July 14 is our second annual “On the Border” fund raiser. “On the Border” is located at 3310 Fairlane Drive, Allen Park (on the hill). So make plans to join friends and family for a dinner
out and make sure to grab a flyer so 10% of lunch or dinner goes to the Children’s Dyslexia Center.
As always, I appreciate all your effort and support!
Thank you.
Ann Randall
The Children’s Dyslexia Center of Southeastern Michigan is a Scottish Rite Charity and provides tutoring for children with dyslexia free of charge. In addition, it also has a free tutor training program.
We are announcing our new Dyslexia Champion Program. The program is designed to allow individuals,
businesses, and organizations to sponsor a day of tutoring at the center. A $300 donation sponsors the
center for an entire day. Your Tax Deductible contribution gives 25 children the gift of reading and the
ability to reach their full potential.
Reading is an extremely challenging experience for children who live with dyslexia. This neurologically
based disorder interferes with the child’s ability to acquire and process language. Dyslexia varies in its
severity and is manifested by difficulties in reading, writing, spelling, handwriting, and sometimes in
arithmetic.
Dyslexia is life-long, but children with dyslexia frequently respond successfully to appropriate and timely
intervention. Dyslexia is a challenge that, according to the National Institutes of Health, affects 15% of the
population and often goes undiagnosed until children are well into elementary school, when it is much
more difficult to address. Please consider becoming a Children’s Dyslexia Champion and help us
remediate dyslexia one day at a time.
Send checks payable to: ”The Children’s Dyslexia Center of Southeastern Michigan” at 907 Monroe St.,
Dearborn, MI 48124-2309. Put “Champion Program” in the memo.
For more information or for other donation options, visit our website at www.cdcsem.org/donate.html or
call John Muntz at 734-759-7090.
