The University of Oregon, in collaboration with the Confederated
Tribes of Siletz Indians, invites all
American Indian students and their
families to the Native Opportunities program on Oct. 21 from 5:30 to
8 p.m. at Siletz Valley School.
This is a great opportunity for
students to get answers to their
questions about the transition
process into higher education after
high school and to learn about financial aid and scholarship opportunities to pay for college, important
deadlines and all college-related
questions.
Parents also have the unique
opportunity to learn how to support
their students that pursue higher
education.
Younger students will have an
opportunity to learn what it takes
to prepare for college and interact
with college students from similar
backgrounds.
Dinner and child care will be provided so the entire family can attend.
We look forward to seeing you on
Oct. 21.
Please contact Alissa Lane at
541-444-8373 or the University of
Oregon Native Opportunities team at
541-346-1067, [email protected] with any questions.

Farmers Market to Continue
Great news! Even though the Siletz Tribe has concluded the Siletz Valley
Farmers Market for this season (grant will end soon), the vendors themselves
will continue setting up next to the Siletz Grange Hall until bad weather hits.
Produce is in full bloom and they want to continue selling for a while. So
the “unofficial” farmers market will continue for a few more weeks on Tuesday afternoons. Stop by and support your local farmers.
