Monogram Food Solutions Growing in Talent Management
MARTINSVILLE, VA - November 19, 2014 – Monogram Snacks Martinsville has promoted
Sean Nix to Director of Talent and hired Ron Charpia as the new Training and Development
Manager. These two managers will play substantial roles in increasing productivity at the
plant, benefiting both Monogram Food Solutions and the city of Martinsville. Charpia will
be filling Nix’s previous role within the company which currently employees over 400
people.
“Monogram is a growth company that believes that growth starts first from within. We
believe it takes training to build strong teams. Sean and Ron will equip us to grow our
company in both size and skill,” said Drew Dodson, VP of Operations for Monogram Snacks
Martinsville.
Nix came to Monogram in June 2013 and has since developed team member and leadership
initiatives, reduced turnover and increased retention. In his new role as Director of Talent,
Nix will work with Charpia to steer training across all areas of the organization. Charpia will
be responsible for talent acquisition. He will develop training for plant managers and will
expand Martinsville’s technical training. Monogram Snacks Martinsville is proud to have Nix
and Charpia who possess passion and commitment to Monogram’s people, who are the company’s
most important asset.
Monogram Snacks Martinsville is an 92,000 square foot processing plant that produces
shelf-stable jerky, meat sticks and picked products. The plant is owned by Monogram Food
Solutions which purchased the facility in August 2009. Since that time, over $10 million in
capital improvements have been made to upgrade the facility’s food safety characteristics
and expand production capabilities. Since acquiring the plant, employment has risen from
115 to over 450 employees.
Monogram Food Solutions was founded in 2004 with the purchase of King Cotton and
Circle B Brand meats from Sara Lee Corporation. Monogram is one of the nation’s leading
meat products and snack manufacturers whose owned brands include Wild Bill’s, Trail’s
Best, Bull’s, Hannah’s and O’Brien’s. The company also sells and markets licensed brands
such as Bass Pro Shops Uncle Buck’s, Johnsonville and Butterball.
