SUCCESS STORY FROEDTERT & THE MEDICAL COLLEGE OF WISCONSIN – A LASTING COLLABORATION As Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network grew, the need to consolidate cancer registries at its various locations became apparent. In 2012, a decision was made to partner with Precyse for oncology data management services to consistently track and report cancer data from all network locations. Froedtert chose Precyse because of its experience with large academic medical centers, quality colleagues and robust quality assurance practices. “I work very closely with Precyse. I like having someone on-site I can work with. It makes a real difference to our program.” K ate Sweeney, Manager, Cancer Center Patient Support Services John Koenig, Director, Froedtert & the Medical College Cancer Network, and Director, Radiation Oncology, reports that Precyse has done a great job helping with the consolidation of the various sites, educating the staff and helping Froedtert receive Commission on Cancer accreditation. Koenig is especially pleased with Precyse’s quality assurance, which supports the integrity of the data. Information is reviewed, validated and often double checked until everyone is satisfied. Like other academic medical centers, Froedtert & the Medical College uses the data for reference, research, to look retrospectively at treatment and validate its program. Froedtert also measures itself against both state and national guidelines.
