BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN BOROUGH COUNCIL
ADULT SOCIAL COMMISSIONING AND PERSONALISATION
Domiciliary Care Services: Learning Disabilities
Accredited Providers of Domiciliary Care
The following providers have been successful in achieving accreditation status with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council in respect of providing domiciliary care
services supporting people with a learning disability.
This list is for:
 the purchase of services for individuals using a personal budget or direct payment,
 individuals paying for their own support, and
 members of the public who wish to buy their support from a provider who has undergone an assurance check with the Council.
This check does not deem any provider on this list as being ‘preferred’ over any other. A yearly accreditation review will take place to check that the provider continues
to meet the accreditation standards.
Contact can be made directly with the provider to discuss the service required, the support that can be provided and associated costs.
Care Quality Commission: Agencies providing domiciliary care must by law be registered with the regulatory body for care services, the Care Quality Commission
(CQC). They are inspected against a set of essential standards of quality and safety, the results of which are available by contacting CQC on 03000 616161 or
alternatively via the website www.cqc.org.uk. The link to each Provider’s CQC registration and inspection reports are detailed in the table below.
Note: Accredited providers do not hold contracts with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and therefore will not be considered for packages commissioned by the
Local Authority on behalf of an individual (known as a commissioned package or a managed budget by the Council). The Domiciliary Care Learning Disability Provider
Framework list will be used for these instances as these providers have been successful through a tender process to receive commissions from the Authority. They
undergo regular assurance reviews to ensure they deliver a level of care that is over and above the essential standards regulated by the Care Quality Commission and
that which is required to be an ‘accredited’ provider only PROVIDER DETAILS
