Notice of the Establishment and Testing Operation of COSCO Container Lines
Americas Inc’s North America Operation Center (“NAOC”)
With COSCON’s continual push to provide a high quality of service to our customers we are
announcing the establishment of the COSCO Container Lines Americas Inc’s North America
Operation Center in Houston, TX. This center has consolidated all services in North America to
include the management of VIP Customer Service, Export and Import Customer Service, Land
Operation, Marine Operations and Accounts Receivables.
Under the direction of corporate management the NAOC will focus on excellent customer
service to all business units, provide smooth ship and cargo operations, achieve high efficiency
on empty repositioning and ensure high quality on land bridge operations.
On and from December 1st, 2014, the NAOC will commence the testing operation in full scale
and all local offices will close excepting Chicago and San Francisco which would sustain till the
end of year.
Below are the departments that will work within the NAOC:
1). Export Department: Management of all Bookings, Traffic, Documentation and ship
management will be the responsibility of the Export Department at the NAOC. This will include
all customer service functions. This department will specialize in handling of OOG and Reefer
business in North America along with general cargo customer service.
2). Import Department: Management of all Customer Service and Import Documentation will be
the responsibility of the Import Department of the NAOC. This department will interface with
the customers in the handling of cargo both at the marine terminal and inland locations.
3). Land Operations: Management of all land operations including Intermodal and Equipment
Control. They will have responsibility to ensure all loaded container get to/from the terminals
and rail ramps in a timely manner. This department is required to ensure that all empties are
loaded on ships as quickly and efficient as possible.
4). Finance and Accounting Department: Management of all accounts receivable work in North
America.
5). Marine Operations Department: Management of all ships in North America to ensure their
safe and efficient voyage. This department is to all required to keep the ship on schedule.
6). Business Process Department: Management of all business process requirements in North
America to include all EDI requirements and telecommunication requirements.
7). VIP Customer Service Department: Management of all Sales Support, Service Contract and
Tariff filing.
