Siemens appoints Sabine Dall’Omo as new
CEO for South Africa
Sabine Dall’Omo has been appointed CEO of Siemens’ Regional Company in South
Africa, effective July 1, 2014. Currently member of the Siemens South Africa
Executive Management Board and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in South Africa,
she will succeed Siegmar Proebstl, who after more than 29 years of working for
Siemens will be leaving the company. She will also continue to serve as the CFO
until September 1, 2014 when Stephan Mueller, currently CFO of the Business Unit
Locomotives and Components of Siemens AG, will be the new CFO of Siemens in
South Africa.
Born in 1968 in Germany, Sabine Dall’Omo came to South Africa in 2004 and is a
permanent South African resident. She has held a variety of international positions
at Siemens over the past 28 years. “I am delighted to have been appointed Chief
Executive of Siemens South Africa”, says Dall’Omo. “The south-east Africa region is
a core market for Siemens, and we will continue to support our customers in the
public and private sector to develop Africa’s infrastructure on the back of a booming
economy.”
Prior to her last role as CFO of Siemens South Africa which she has held since February 2012, Sabine has held a number of senior positions within Siemens in South
Africa, Germany, USA and China. Sabine joined Siemens as a student for her vocational training in 1986 after obtaining her Higher Commercial Certificate from the
Heinrich-Thoene College.
Sabine has backed a number of South African government driven initiatives in support of local skills development and Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment

(B-BBEE), and was instrumental in setting up Siemens (Pty) Ltd’s Employee Share
Ownership Trust where previously disadvantaged Siemens employees benefit from
a 15% shareholding in the company.
