Using Your Own Device (Mac) for remote access to NFUM IT services Use Your Own Device Guide (Mac) This guide explains what hardware and software you’ll need when accessing NFU Mutual’s IT systems from your home Mac and how to connect. Please note the installation steps are only necessary the first time you connect using your own device. It is important to remember that you must continue to adhere to NFUM’s Information Security policies when accessing NFUM IT systems from your own equipment. Use Your Own Device – What you need. Before trying Use Your Own device for the first time check you have the following things: Hardware Software Security Permissions Mac Operating System 10.7 Lion 10.8 Mountain Lion 10.9 Mavericks OS X Yosemite Internet browser Safari Firefox V12 and greater NFUM User ID and Password A NFUM network User ID (e.g. dpdvkud) and password. Anti-Virus Up to date Anti-Virus software: RSA Key fob An RSA SecureID key fob and your RSA Pin number. Broadband Broadband Connection with a minimum speed of 1Mb. Java Latest version of Java installed on your Mac and configured correctly. Check your broadband speed on the following URL when connected to your internet service: www.speedtest.net This is the software used for displaying certain types of web content, available from www.java.com.To validate your Java install in Firefox use this URL: http://www.java.com/en/download/ If you do not currently have an RSA key fob, one can be requested via the IT Service Desk. These do however come at a cost and will require cost centre manager approval. Citrix Receiver This is installed when logging in for the first time. Citrix Receiver can be downloaded separately if problems occur from this URL: http://www.citrix.com/clients NO Spam ware or popup blockers The pc needs to be clear or any Malware / spam ware or add on’s to the browsers like pop up blockers. Certain network monitoring software could interfere with the Citrix receiver as well. 1/ 6 Using Your Own Device (Mac) for remote access to NFUM IT services Connecting to VPN with Use Your Own Device 1 Launch Internet Browser Use whichever browser you are most comfortable with. Use any of the following Internet Browsers: Firefox Safari 3 2 Navigate to RSA Login page https://ras1.nfumutual.co.uk or https://ras2.nfumutual.co.uk Complete Cisco Secure Desktop Check/Installation On loading, the Cisco Secure Desktop page is displayed. This will automatically check that you have the latest version of Java and may request that you download another Java plugin. If you do need to install another Java plugin: Click Download Click Install button (at the bottom of the window) Tick the Do not show this message again box Click OK Select Launch or OK to the dialogue that shows. Download 4 Login using RSA Key fob You will now be presented with a login form. GROUP WEBVPN USERNAME Your NFU Mutual Username PASSWORD If this is the first time you have been presented with this screen before, or you recently had your RSA key fob reset, then enter the six digits shown on the RSA key fob. If you have followed this step previously, enter your four digit pin followed by the six digits shown on the RSA Key fob Select Login If this is the first time you have logged on with your RSA key fob you will then be asked to choose your four digit pin. This will be used in the future to log in, so make sure you don’t forget it. It is usual to assign it to be the numerical value of your initials e.g. CM = 0313 (C = 03, M = 13 as they are in the alphabet). 2/ 6 Using Your Own Device (Mac) for remote access to NFUM IT services 5 Download Citrix Receiver for Mac The installation is a one-time only process required before first use. You should now be presented with the Citrix XenApp screen with a large green button at the centre of the screen labelled INSTALL. It is at this point you need to download Citrix Receiver for Mac. If you click INSTALL you should be taken to the Citrix website to select the download you require. If you do not, then just open this URL in another browser window: http://www.citrix.com/downloads In the Select Product drop down list select Citrix Receiver. In the Select Download Type drop down list select Receiver Easy Install. Then select Find. The results will be shown, download the receiver, open the file and follow the instructions to install the Citrix Receiver. When the Citrix Receiver has been installed, click on the INSTALL button in the Citrix XenApp screen and refresh the window. Allow any prompts that are shown. Once installed the following icon should show in your taskbar: 6 Citrix XenApp Login This step will appear differently depending on what Operating System or Web Browser you are using You may receive the prompt to enter your log on credentials, or you may just receive the monitor icon. In either case, you will be prompted to enter your NFU Mutual Username and Password as you would if you were logging on in the office. You are now securely connected to the NFU Mutual network. To minimise your xenapp session and access your our computer desktop whilst logged into your NFUM desktop press CTRL + ALT on your keyboard Disconnecting the NFU Mutual network. Click the Start button and click Log off Click the Log Off drop down arrow and click Disconnect Your session will be disconnected Start button> Log Off> Disconnect 3/ 6 Using Your Own Device (Mac) for remote access to NFUM IT services Can the IT Service Desk help me? The Service Desk is limited in terms of what support they can offer. They can: Check your account and ensure your key fob is configured correctly to access the NFUM IT systems from your personal equipment. Assist you with any IT incidents or ‘how do I …?’ questions once you’re logged in and accessing the NFUM systems (as if you were working in the office) They can’t: Install any of the software required to allow your own IT equipment to access NFUM systems. Clear any malware or Spam ware off your PC or Laptop. Help to resolve any issues you have with your own IT equipment or network connection. Remotely connect or provide hands on support relating to your own IT equipment. Any software programs or components installed on your own equipment to access NFUM systems are done at your own risk. NFU Mutual cannot accept any responsibility for any software installations you complete. The following is a guide on how Where can I get help? Use this guide to give you direction for first time installation and further use. If you have any difficulties at any step check the troubleshooting section within this guide which is a record of all the known issues people come across and their workarounds. Troubleshooting 1 Launch Internet Browser No known Issues. However we recommend that you use Firefox as some trouble shooting information is based around that, and we have found the most consistent success with that browser. To get the latest version of that try the following link https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new/ 2 Navigate to RSA Login page RSA login page not displayed when entering URL. 1) If you are connecting through Guest Wireless, this website is not displayed internally. 2) If you are using Safari you may need to add the following URL to Safari’s Top Sites: https://ras1.nfumutual.co.uk https://ras2.nfumutual.co.uk A guide explaining how to do this can be found at this URL: http://www.macworld.com/article/1158120/manage_safari_top_sites.html 3) Allow pop ups on all browsers from https://ras1.nfumutual.co.uk and https://ras2.nfumutual.co.uk. You may need to disable any installed pop up blockers e.g. Google or Yahoo toolbar. 4) Ensure that the ‘s’ is present after http:// in the addess bar. 4/ 6 Using Your Own Device (Mac) for remote access to NFUM IT services 3 Complete Cisco Secure Desktop Check/Installation Failing Cisco Secure check/ Installation check 1) Check that you have the latest version of Java installed and that it is enabled by visiting this URL: http://www.java.com/en/download/ 2) On your machine navigate to: Apple Icon > System Preferences > Java. In the window that appears, click the Security Tab at the top, and select Edit Site List near the bottom. In the subsequent box that appears click Add, enter "https://ras1.nfumutual.co.uk" and click Ok, then Ok again. See the following link for more information. http://www.java.com/en/download/help/jcp_security.xml 3) Try another recommended browser e.g Safari or Firefox 4) Check you have the latest Mac Updates. This can be done by visiting the following URL: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1338 5) If you are using Safari and Mavericks, you will need to complete the following steps:. Open the Safari browser. Click on Safari (at the top left of the window). Click on Preferences and then Security Ensure that Enable JavaScript is ticked. Security Tab> Edit Site List Click on Manage Website Settings and then Citrix Receiver Plugin. Click on the drop down next to When visiting other websites: and select Allow Always Click on Java. Click on the drop down next to When visiting other websites: and select Allow Always Click Done. 5/ 6 Using Your Own Device (Mac) for remote access to NFUM IT services 4 Login using RSA Key fob Multiple Anti-Virus 1) This check will fail if there is multiple Anti-Virus software active on your Laptop or PC at the same time. One will need to be deactivated or uninstalled. This URL explains how to disable Anti-Virus software. windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/disable-Anti-Virus -software Login failed message 1) If this is the first time you are logging in you only need to enter RSA Token ID as your password without a pin number. 2) The RSA key fob may need to be activated or reset. If so contact the IT helpdesk. Safari hangs on “Attempting to use Java” 1) Open the Safari preferences and click Security > Manage Website Settings 2) Select Java 3) Click the dropdown manu next to ras1.nfumutual.co.uk and choose run in unsafe mode. 4) Click Trust on the pop up box 5) Repeat steps above for ras2.nfumutual.co.uk 5 Download Citrix Receiver for Mac INSTALL button still showing after installation 1) If you are confident it has been installed, but the INSTALL button is still showing on the Citrix XenApp screen, then click on ‘Skip to log on’ to move onto the logon screen. 6 Citrix XenApp Login Login Failed 1) Ensure that your NFU mutual login and password works when in the office on a standard thin client. 6/ 6
