Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Warm Greetings from PGIMER, Chandigarh!!
The preparations for the prestigious 22nd annual conference of Indian Academy of Neurology, IANCON 2014
are in top gear. The organising committee is working in close coordination with the Executive committee of IAN
to provide you an unmatched academic feast. Do join us in the city beautiful, Chandigarh to experience a
cutting edge scientific program.
The Scientific committee of IAN has introduced many new academic initiatives in IANCON 2014 in different
fields of neurology with special emphasis on movement disorders, headache, neuro-ophthalmology, epilepsy,
multiple sclerosis, stroke and much more.
We are introducing an interactive and thrilling Quiz for the first time: IAN-BAR-B-Q (IAN Best All Round Brain
Quiz) modelled on Neuro-Bowl of Annual Conference of American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and will be
conducted by Dr. Kapil Sethi, the chief moderator of the event at AAN. We are sure this is going to be one of the
most sought after events in the forthcoming IANCONs in the years and decades to come. Moreover we are also
introducing new sessions like NEURO-RADIOLOGY ROUNDS; PEARLS IN NEUROLOGY and many others, which
will leave a lasting impression on everyone's mind. Most of our symposia will emphasise less on lectures and
more on interactive cases, so that there is a take home message in every moment spent in PGI.
The organising committee is also working hard to ensure that work done in field of Neurology in India is
promoted and get noticed. For this we encourage active participation from all of you. We are emphasising
more on POSTERS and e-POSTERS and LESS ON PLATFORM PRESENTATIONS this time. We have kept
exemplary prizes for the BEST POSTER in all the parallel individual sessions. We request you to send your
original work in large numbers to electrify the spirit of IANCON.
The day long hectic scientific schedule will be followed by memorable dinners in the soothing environs of
ROYAL MUGHAL GARDENS of PINJORE and world famous ROCK GARDEN to pamper you with world class
cuisines from the Kitchens of North India.
So friends, MARK YOUR DATES for some nostalgic moments. You can look forward to an excellent scientific
program and wonderful hospitality PGI Chandigarh is known for. The ever charming Chandigarh environs
during early winters shall be even more capricious and embalming to the senses.
Hoping to see you all in full strength in Chandigarh in November 2014.
