PIU is a co-operation among approx. 30 business colleges in Denmark which send about 30 trainees to England and 130 trainees to Germany each year. xx THE PIU-PROGRAMME PIU is short for the Danish “work placements abroad“. Through the PIU-programme in England you have the opportunity to hire a highly motivated and already well-educated Danish trainee for 12 months. The trainees have graduated from commercial upper secondary school, and a traineeship in England is considered as a good start for his/her future career. Trainees who decide to go abroad demonstrate a certain drive and determination, and what companies abroad can expect is a competent young person eager to work, learn and to face cultural and linguistic challenges in a new work environment.
