In accordance with the requirements of the Native Title Act 1993 (as amended), I wish to let
you know that Maritime Safety Queensland has received applications for Buoy Mooring
Authorities. I have detailed these in the attached Notification Form.
To assist your people in assessing this notification, I have grouped all Buoy Mooring
Authorities based on their location.
Accordingly, please find attached one (1) Notification Form relating to the issue ofthree (3)
buoy Mooring Authorities that are to be issued under the Transport Operations (Marine
Safety) Regulation 2004 s.209. These are listed with the blue notification form.
I have grouped all moorings located in close proximity to each other on two (2) maps. Each
of the attached maps relate to a specific area.
In considering the above new applications for buoy mooring authorities, Maritime Safety
Queensland invites your comments before granting approval of the authorities. Your
comments should be provided in writing by 6 August 2014 and forwarded to:

Section 209.
The approval, if granted, will permit the following activity to happen:
Nature of activity
A mooring block/weight is to be located on the seabed with a floating
buoy attached to it by a chain, rope or combination of both. The
chain and/or rope is used to secure a vessel to the mooring block.
This enables the vessel to remain at a specified site when not in use.
Location of Activity
As per the attached list.
Refer to Map
The attached map/s show the position of the buoy moorings to which
the authorities relate. Please note, the authorities under this
notification appear in blue.
