MEDIA COVERAGE OF THE JOINT SESSION OF THE SIXTEENTH CONGRESS
OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES FOR THE PRESIDENT’S STATE
OF THE NATION ADDRESS (SONA) ON 28 JULY 2014
RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR MEDIA
ACCREDITATION
A. Media Accreditation for the SONA is mandatory. Only those
wearing the official Media IDs, together with their agency IDs,
shall be allowed inside the premises of the Batasan Complex.
B. The incumbent members of the House of Representatives, Senate
and Malacañang Press Corps are automatically accredited for the
SONA. Submission of their names and accreditation requirements
shall be the responsibility of these institutions to which they are
presently accredited. However, these media persons should ensure
that their names are included in the lists to be submitted to the
Committee on Media-Media Accreditation Team.
C. The number of media persons per agency to be accredited shall be
limited according to the following distribution:

D. The Committee on Media- Media Accreditation Team shall begin
accepting applications on 02 June 2014.
D. Deadline for submission of applications is 03 July 2014.
E. Following are the steps in the submission of applications for
accreditation:
1. Download soft copies of SONA 2014 Media Accreditation
Forms (Annexes A and A1 (TV), A2 (Radio), A3 (Print), A4
(Online) and Application for Car Pass (A5) from the House of
Representatives website: www.congress.gov.ph or call the
House of Representatives Public Relations and Information
Bureau – Office of the Executive Director (PRIB-OED) with
offices at Room NCR-F, 2nd floor, North Wing Building, House
of Representatives, Batasan Complex, Constitution Hills,
Quezon City at the following telephone numbers for assistance:

2. The News Department head or authorized person of the media
agency shall prepare the accomplished electronic copies of the
form together with the applicants’ digital photos. The 2 " x 2"
recent digital photo of each applicant must be submitted in JPEG
format with the corresponding media person's FIRST NAME,
LAST NAME, POSITION, AGENCY (all caps) as file name.

3. Submit personally to the PRIB-OED in CD or via email
([email protected])
the
digital
photos
and
accomplished application forms as early as possible to avoid
unnecessary delay in the processing and issuance of the SONA
Media ID.
The Media Accreditation Team WILL NOT accept and process
incomplete requirements.
For those opting to send requirements via email, kindly indicate in
the subject AGENCY NAME and, in case of bulk accreditation,
indicate BATCH NUMBER.
Please refrain from resending the same email, unless the
Committee on Media –Media Accreditation Team did not respond
to your previous email. Indicate in your subject if said email has
been previously sent to avoid duplication of ID processing.
4. Agency media coordinators are advised to coordinate with the
Committee on Media as to areas and number allotted to media
persons.
5. Applicants shall be advised of the schedule of claiming the Media
IDs and drop-off car passes or call the Committee on Media –
Media Accreditation Team for follow-up.
6. TV and radio networks shall submit to the Committee on Media
Chairperson on or before 03 July 2014 their respective lists of
personnel who will enter the House of Representatives premises
on pre-SONA days (25-27 July 2014) for set-up activities.
