Prager University’s 2014 Ten Commandments Essay Contest
Terms and Conditions
1. ELIGIBILITY: The Prager University Ten Commandments Essay Contest is open
to entrants who are legal residents of the United States, aged 22 and
younger as of March 1, 2015 and enrolled in private school, public school,
home school or college. Participants under the age of 18 must have the
consent of their parent or legal guardian and must indicate this on their
online application. Employees, contractors, directors and officers of Prager
University Foundation are not eligible to participate. Contestants may submit
no more than one essay. There are two age categories. Category 1 includes
entrants who are 14 years old and younger. Category 2 includes entrants
who are 15 – 22 years old. Category 1 and 2 will be judged separately.
2. CONTEST PERIOD: You may enter the Contest between 10:00am (PST) on
December 1, 2014 and 11:59:59 pm (PST) on March 1, 2015. Entries
submitted before or after that time period will be rejected automatically.
3. HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST: No purchase necessary. During the Contest
Period, go to www.PragerUniversity.com for Contest information and
complete registration.
There are three steps that must be completed:
A. Fill out the online application form
B. Agree to the Terms and Conditions
C. Upload a PDF of your essay
Prager University Foundation (PUF) may, in its sole discretion disqualify
any Submission and/or Entrant it deems inappropriate or non-compliant
with contest rules.
4. CREATIVE ASSIGNMENT:
For entrants under 14, write an essay 350-450 words in length (not including
title). For entrants 15 to 22, write an essay 700-800 words in length (not
including title).
After watching PragerU’s Ten Commandments Series, pick one
commandment that most surprised you. Explain what you believed about that
commandment before you watched the video, and then explain how your
understanding of that commandment changed after you watched the video.
5. JUDGING CRITERIA:!
Entries will be judged by a committee composed of the staff from the
Institute for Excellence in Writing, college professors, and Dennis Prager.
Judging will be based according to the following rubric:

6. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: !Format your completed essay as a PDF file and
upload it to the Prager University website. You must agree to the Terms and
Conditions.
A. Submitted essays should be titled in the following format: “10
Commandments Essay Contest 2014: Prager University: <insert your
name>”.
B. The person named on the application will be deemed the “Entrant”.
Each Entrant is allowed a total of one Submission. Each Submission must
be the original work of the Entrant that was produced specifically for this
Contest and has not been previously published elsewhere.
7. SUBMISSION STANDARDS and SUBMISSION USE:
Submissions must be suitable for display and publication on national
television, the internet, and in any medium appropriate for a general
audience. By entering this Contest and uploading your Submission, you
irrevocably grant to Prager University the unconditional and perpetual rights
to post, display, publish, use, adapt, or excerpt Submission in any way, in
any and all media, for any purpose, without limitation, and without
consideration to you.
All Contest Entrants agree to release and indemnify and hold harmless
Prager University, the contest judges, and the Contest sponsors from any
and all claims.
Submissions may be featured from time to time on the Prager University
website during the Contest Period and/or in any Sponsor’s social media
pages and channels.
Any attempt by an Entrant and/or his/her family/friends to submit more than
one essay by using multiple names, email addresses, phone numbers and/or
any other fraudulent mechanism, shall result in disqualification at the sole
discretion of PUF.
PRIZES
Category 1: 14 years old and below: First Place, $750; Second Place, $200;
Third Place, $100
Category 2: 15-22 years old: First Place, $1,500; Second Place, $200; Third
Place, $100
Payment of any federal, state and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes
won will be the sole responsibility of the winner.
WINNER NOTIFICATION:
Finalists (or Finalist's parent/legal guardian if Finalist is a minor) will be
notified by phone and/or email on June 1 , 2015. The winning essays and the
names of winners will be posted on the Prager University website.

YOU . F INALISTS AGREE TO IRREVOCABLY ASSIGN AND TRANSFER TO PUF ANY AND ALL
RIGHTS , TITLE AND INTEREST IN THE S UBMISSION ( INCLUDING , WITHOUT LIMITATION , ALL
