Print 4 Population Pyramids and Bring To Class
Go to http://tinyurl.com/3bo38lb
1. You will be selecting 4 population pyramids (one country in Stage 2, one country in Stage 3, one country in Stage 4 and one country in Stage 5) and either
printing all three pages or copying and pasting the three pyramids onto one page and printing that one page.
2. When you get to the U.S. Census Bureau International Data Base Population Pyramid Generator web site listed above, select Population Pyramid Graph. Select
2014, then select a country that is in Stage 2 of the Demographic Transition. Select Submit. Print or copy and paste the pyramid onto a blank page.
3. Repeat this process, selecting countrie in Stage 3, 4 and 5. Print or copy and paste pyramids onto the same page as the others and then print. Bring all print outs
with you to class.
How To Make Your Flip Flap Book (in class)
1. Assemble supplies: 1 piece of scrapbooking paper, 3 pieces of colored paper, scissors, ruler, pencil, glue stick (I will have all the supplies).
2. Use scrapbooking paper as cover. Create flip book with liftable flaps including the following:
a. Cover with title Demographic Transition Model (page 1 of flip book)
b. Sketch of Demographic Transition Model with each stage as a flap (page 2)
c. Under each appropriate stage of the Demographic Transition Model, include a flap for CBR (page 3), CDR, (page 4) RNI (page 5), corresponding
economic & political events (page 6) and corresponding population pyramid (page 7 - glue in the pyramids you printed).
