WHO WAS RON KUBIK?
Ron Kubik was an adventurous young man with boundless enthusiasm. He was a memorable
student at Manasquan High School who participated in many diverse classes and activities.
He was a good student, musician, storyteller, wrestler, actor, writer, motivator, and friend.
In May of his senior year, Ron came to school with a new haircut: a green Mohawk. He was
suspended and sent home. Later, he argued his case for free expression before the Board
of Education, and won. When he graduated in 2006, he dreamed of becoming a lawyer.
Instead, Ron became a U.S. Army Ranger in the elite 3 Battalion, 75 Ranger Regiment.
During Operation Enduring Freedom in Logar Province , Afghanistan, Ron led an assault
against members of the Kabul Terror Network. He is credited with saving 29 lives that day,
April 23, 2010, including 19 innocent Afghani women and children. In 2013 he was awarded
the military’s third highest decoration for valor: the Silver Star.
