Emanuel joins Achievement Asset Management CIO Joseph Scoby, PNC Illinois president Scott Swanson and City Treasurer Kurt Summers as award recipients at the event, which serves as a significant fundraiser for the nonprofit organization that operates in the city’s West Town, Humboldt Park and Little Village neighborhoods. “We are regularly overwhelmed by the generosity shown by corporate foundations and private donors at our annual awards dinner,” Roldán-Moreno said. “It renews our hope for a more just, inclusive society when community partners affirm the work we are doing to empower families with the education, resources and opportunities they need in order to thrive, and, in turn, invest in the wellbeing of their neighborhoods.” The awards dinner will also highlight the agency’s childcare program, which serves roughly 200 working families in the Latino community. Sarah Rios, a single working mother whose three children are enrolled in Erie House programs and who has been an outspoken voice in advocacy efforts led by the organization, will serve as keynote speaker for the event.
