Much has been accomplished: The parking lot was resealed and several spaces were converted to handicapped spaces. The pool deck was resealed during the summer. A new paint scheme and signage was added to the front of the Clubhouse, and matching awnings were added in the back. The updated and expanded kitchen project was completed. All of this - and more - was accomplished while keeping the monthly maintenance fee at $30.00. In the Spring, the updated Covenants were passed by five votes to one vote. We thank the hard-working Covenants Committee and volunteers for helping with these long overdue changes. Finally, I want to remind all to vote in the February 24th Board of Directors election. It is important that the voice of everyone in Gull Aire is heard. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 Election for 2015-2016 Budget Elections for Board of Directors Gull Aire Village Association’s Sale and Rental Procedures are below. PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY. SALE AND RENTAL PROCEDURES RESTRICTION ON RENTALS Notice to All Residents Regarding Homes For Sale by Owner, for Sale with Realtor, and for Rent The Gull Aire Village Board of Directors has changed the requirements and the paperwork necessary for both buyers and renters to fill out before they are approved for occupancy. These changes apply to homes that are for sale and listed with Realtor, and to homes that are offered for sale by owner(s) without the help of a Realtor, as well as to owners and renters entering into any lease. If you are a home owner contemplating selling your home by yourself, it is your responsibility to follow these new procedures. They are available on the website www.gullairevillage.org under the tab of “Association”. These new procedures are detailed in the “Residency Application Form”. The same applies if you are a home owner who is planning on renting your home. First time renters who are renting for any length of time will be required to fill out the “Residency Application Form”. Repeat renters who have an application on file will not be required to submit another application and fee unless there has been a substantial change in their circumstances. ALL GULL AIRE RENTALS ARE TO BE A MINIMUM OF ONE MONTH. You, as the home owner, are responsible for following the new procedures. Because the “55+ Certification” has a statement to be signed that says the signer has read and understood all the Covenants and Rules, and because this form must be signed by all parties, we suggest that a copy be printed and given to the prospective buyer or renter. The “55+ Certification” is on the same web page as the “Residency Application Form”. The “Covenants of Gull Aire Village” and the “Rules and Regulations” are also available under the “Association” tab on the website www.gullairevillage.org. If you do not have a computer to print out these forms, they are available from Alice at the clubhouse office Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm Page 6 - February 2015 Gull Aire Village Gull Aire Village February 2015 - Page 7 Resume for Candidate for Board of Directors Ken LaMarca 605 Canal Way About Myself Lived in Mass/NH for 55 years. He has spent countless hours of research, making several trips to restaurant equipment stores for price comparisons to get the best deals. This whole process took months of his time so that every “I” would be dotted and every “T” would be crossed. He made certain all questions could be answered from demolition, contractors, county and city permits through finish. The Board was so impressed they refused to move forward with the project until Dave returned from Ohio to see it through from start to finish. When there were a few hiccups, Dave was always there to smooth things out. On top of everything else … HE IS A FABULOUS COOK!!! We can’t wait for all the great chefs in our community to get cooking wonderful meals and having lots of fun! THANKS---THANKS---THANKS Gull Aire Village Page 12 - February 2015 OLDSMAR CARES VOLUNTEERS TO BE OUT IN FULL FORCE! South on McMullen Booth (13355 49th Street North, Clearwater – Phone number 727-446-5898) (Leave name and number if you have questions.) Plan on having a catered meal by Banquet Masters which will include full salad bar, choice of entrees, sides of rice, potatoes and vegetables, assorted rolls and butter, and coffee and iced tea. Good news! There will be a “Dessert DuJour” and a separate full bar available. The name of the performance is “Caught in the Net,” the story of a bigamist taxi driver in London with two families who are happy and blissfully unaware of each other. However, his teenage children (a girl from one family and a boy from the other) have met on the Internet and are anxious to meet in person since they have so much in common name, surname and taxi driving dad! Keeping them apart plunges John into a heck-hole of his own making. His lodger Stanley could save the day, but he is about to go on holiday with his decrepit old father (who turns up thinking he is already at the guest house). Cost: $29.90 per person (show and dinner included). (See Alice in the Clubhouse for tickets.) Cutoff date for ticket sales is Sunday, February 15, 2015.
