In order to master this scenario data scientists alone are not enough. An
extensive new generation of data-driven professionals will be required
by the market in the next few years: data-driven developers, data-driven
designers, data-driven entrepreneurs, data-driven policy makers…
The first step to the real Data-Maturity is to focus not primarily on the
data, the technologies or the systems but to think about the user or the
participant. This user-centric thinking involves a shift from a producerled view to a consumer-led view.
Explaining this data-culture and bringing that from theory to practice,
through a hands-on approach, is exactly the main BIG DIVE objective
in 2015.

What
BIG DIVE aims at boosting the growth of a new generation of developers.
A street-fighting gym where high value datasets are the raw material in
the hands of a group of ambitious smart geeks tutored and mentored
by experts in three key areas: Development, Visualization and Data
Science.
Our goal is not to “create” utopian multidisciplinary professionals but
to provide a complete overview of the BIG DATA value chain, from data
to impact.
When/ Where
/ Five weeks full-time starting June 8 and finishing July 10, 2015 in the
city of Turin - ITALY.
/ Roughly class time is from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
How
/ 3 cross-disciplinary study paths.
/ Special lecture and events with national/international experts.
/ High value datasets.
/ A final and public exhibition of projects.
/ An Open-Lean-Agile approach.
/ Prizes will be assigned to the team who will develop the best project
during the course.
/ A final certificate of participation.
