WHAT: A Three-hour STARS/MERIT training by Nancy Rowswell

Session 1: 8:45 AM – 10:15 AM— Infant Class: "Endless Opportunities for Infants" This workshop is designed
for providers who work with infants. Using the three "R"s - Respect, Reflect and Relate - come and engage in creating, discovering and learning the opportunities in infant care. Topics for discussion are engaging families, opportunities for attachment and emotional development, and using observation for planning, Your years of experience will contribute to this workshop. 1.5 STARS
Session 2: 10:30 AM – 12:00 noon— Toddlers and 2 Year Olds: “How to Handle Defiant Toddlers and Conflict
with 2 year Olds" Come and explore techniques to help with the toddler who says “NO” and “Mine” and does
not want to change what they are playing. Learn positive ways to talk to toddlers, help them cope with anger,
and look at their characteristics of temperament. 1.5 STARS
