For more than 30 years IMDC has been a leading consultant in Flanders, specialised in the execution
of national and international water related engineering and consultancy projects. At this moment we
work with 100 highly qualified employees on projects integrating scientific research with hydraulic
engineering. IMDC acquired a vast experience in the field of marine and estuarine systems, dredging
technology, coastal engineering, ports and offshore structures, river basin management, waterways
and inland navigation, hydraulic design, environmental studies and in situ measurement techniques.
With regard to coastal engineering, IMDC has developed important know how in the field of
structural design of breakwaters, rubble mound breakwaters, erosion protection and beach
nourishments. Mathematical models are used intensively in our projects to predict and analyse
waves, currents and sediment transport in the coastal area.

Senior Site Engineer
Intakes Outfalls Marine Structures (m/f)
Job content
For the construction of a coal fired power plant, IMDC is looking for a senior site engineer to form part
of the Owner’s Engineer’s site team, for the follow-up of the marine works (construction of the intakes
and outfall and also the main and counter breakwater).
The candidate will manage the OE activities for the marine works for which his main activities are:
 day-to-day management and supervision of the marine construction works.
 handling & coordination of technical items.
 follow-up & reporting of subproject progress, contractual/financial items, quality follow-up, HSE,
etc.
 interface management & coordination with the rest of the CFPP scope, and liaise with design
team as applicable.
Expected duration of the mission abroad is 20-24 months.
Profile





You have a university degree in coastal, harbour or civil engineering.
You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in execution or supervision of marine works & their
management, with specific similar scope an advantage.
Certain design experience is a plus.
You are willing to operate in a team on site in a sometimes stressful but challenging environment.
You have a flexible attitude since many of the works will be performed 24 hours/7 days a week,
which might mean you have to coordinate with supervisors also outside the regular office hours.
You are fluent in English and French (both in writing and verbally).
