SPORT, CARS & FOOTBALL APLENTY AT CARNEVALE
Like Australians, Italians love their sport and at Carnevale 2015 there is lots to choose from for all
ages.
Carnevale is particularly pleased that its Carnevale Cup - soccer for under 12s – is so keenly
anticipated by kids and their families. It is the only under12 competition of its type in the state and the
Showground Oval becomes a hotbed of intrigue, physical exertion and fun for the weekend. 16 teams
compete fiercely for the silverware and one wonders whether Metro Stars can hold onto their status or
whether they will be toppled from their perch in 2015!
Get along to the Showground Oval to watch a game or two and be at the Youth Stage at 5pm on
Sunday for the presentations with a surprise guest from Adelaide United Football Club.
Bocce, a traditional and very Italian game, with origins going back to the Roman Empire, continues.
Originally played by Italian migrants, it is now widely enjoyed in the broader Australian community. It’s
fun to participate and beginners are welcome to have a go in Piazza Jubilee!
Also in Piazza Jubilee is one of the favourite components of Carnevale – the motor display with
fabulous Ferrari, awesome Alfa Romeo, dashing Ducati motorcycles, fantastic Fiat 500 and
scintillating Scuderia Italia vehicles! Please forgive the alliteration. As well, look out for the Belcar
Group and for the first showing of the stunning, new for 2015, Series 1 Alfa Giulietta starring the
amazing all new, 177kw Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde TCT, and maybe one or two other surprises!
New at Carnevale is Foosball – Soccer Tables – 12 of them to get your arms and fingers working!
