BLAZING THE TRAIL: Entering his third season with the Trail
Blazers, Terry Stotts was hired as the franchise’s 14th head
coach on August 7, 2012. Stotts led the Trail Blazers to a 54-win
season in 2013-14, marking the largest improvement in franchise
history and the sixth-best record all-time. Portland won its first
playoff series in 14 seasons, defeating the Houston Rockets in six
games and setting up a Western Conference Semifinal matchup
with the San Antonio Spurs. The postseason berth was the team’s
first since 2010-11. Named the NBA’s Western Conference Coach
of the Month for November of 2013 after getting the Trail Blazers
off to a 13-3 start, Stotts, 56, has molded Portland into one of the
top offensive teams in the NBA, ranking among league leaders in
scoring (fourth), free throw pct. (first), 3-point pct. (10th), rebounds
(first), assists (ninth) and turnovers (fifth) for 2013-14. The Trail
Blazers’ 106.7-point scoring average last season stands as the
highest franchise mark in 20 years (1993-94, 107.3 ppg).
CLOSING TIME: Portland is 21-2 this season when leading after
three quarters and 10-10 when trailing after three quarters. Portland is also 8-2 when trailing at home entering the fourth quarter.
CARDIAC (TRAIL) CATS: Portland’s 14-point comeback victory
over the Wizards on Jan. 24 puts them at an NBA-best 13 wins
when trailing by 10+ points. The Trail Blazers have already matched
their win total from last season when trailing by double-digits (1322 in 2013-14).
DIVISION DOMINANCE: Portland is 7-1 against Northwest Division opponents, marking its second best start against divisional
rivals through the first eight games in franchise hsitory (8-0 in 1977).
MR. DOUBLE-DOUBLE: With 22 points and 11 rebounds on
Tuesday against Utah, LaMarcus Aldridge is now tied with Sidney
Wicks for the most double-doubles in Trail Blazers history (219). Aldridge has produced four consecutive double-doubles for Portland.
STOTTS AT THE CENTURY MARK: In beating the Timberwolves
107-93 on Sunday, Nov. 30, Terry Stotts earned his 100th win as
RAIN BROS UNITE: Wesley Matthews is ranked first in the

overall record of 120-93 with Portland (.563), became the eighth NBA with 151 three-pointers, while Damian Lillard is sixth with

ALDRIDGE NAMED WESTERN CONFERENCE ALL-STAR: After averaging a team-high 23.6 points and 10.2 rebounds through
his first 40 games, LaMarcus Aldridge was named a 2014-15
Western Conference All-Star reserve on Jan. 29. This will be Aldridge’s fourth consecutive All-Star appearance, making him the
third player in franchise history to be selected at least four times
(Drexler, 8; Wicks, 4)
MATTHEWS MAKING HISTORY: With seven 3-pointers against
Memphis on Jan. 17, Wesley Matthews surpassed Terry Porter
for the most 3-pointers all-time in Trail Blazers history. Through
his first four seasons with Portland, Matthews has made no fewer
than 129 3-pointers in the regular season. Halfway through this
season (41 games), Matthews had made 125 3-pointers. His
previous-high for 3-pointers in a season is 201 (2013-14).
CLIMBING THE LADDER: With eight rebounds on Jan. 16,
LaMarcus Aldridge surpassed Jerome Kersey for second on
Portland’s all-time rebounding list. With 5,150 career rebounds,
Aldridge is now 189 rebounds behind Clyde Drexler for most in
franchise history (5,339).

DEFENDING THE THREE: The Trail Blazers have limited their
opponents to less than 10 three-pointers in 45 of their 49 games
this season. Portland ranks first in the NBA in defending the
three-pointer, holding its opponents to 31.4% shooting from
downtown. Through the first 35 games, Portland’s opposing
three-point field goal percentage (29.2%) was its lowest franchise mark since 1991-92 (28.2%).
BEYOND THE ARC: The Trail Blazers have made 10+ three-pointers in 27 games this season (18-9). Last month, Portland became
the first team in NBA history to make at least 16 three-pointers in
three consecutive games (12/23-12/28).
SHARING IS CARING: The Trail Blazers have finished with 20 or
more assists in 39 of 48 games this season. Earlier this season,
Portland became the first team to record at least 20 assists in each
of its first 20 games since Utah in 2007-08.
CONSISTENT LAMARCUS: With 18 points against Milwaukee
on Jan. 31, LaMarcus Aldridge secured his eighth consecutive
season with 1,000+ points.
DEFENSIVE LIMITATIONS: The Trail Blazers limited Miami to
83 points on Jan. 8, representing the 12th time this season that
Portland has held the opposition to less than 90 points. Portland
accomplished that feat just seven times in all of 2013-14.
STRONG START: By beating the Lakers on Jan. 11, Portland became the first team to reach 30 wins in the NBA this season. The
Trail Blazers won at least 30 of their first 38 games for the third time
in franchise history (32-6, 1977-78; 31-7, 1990-91; 30-8, 2014-15).
DANGEROUS DAMIAN: Damian Lillard has finished with 25+
points and 5+ assists 13 times this season (Por: 11-2). He is also
the first Trail Blazer to score 900+ points and dish out 250+ assists through the first 41 games since Clyde Drexler in 1991-92.
LA FOR THREE: LaMarcus Aldridge is shooting 13-of-18
(72.2%) from beyond the arc in the first quarter this season.
For the season, Aldridge has made 25 of his 52 three-pointers
(48.0%).
WESLEY MAKING HISTORY: After making six of his 10 threepoint attempts last Sunday (Nov. 30) against Minnesota, Wesley
Matthews became the first Trail Blazer ever to make at least six
3-pointers in three straight games. He joined J.R. Smith, Mike Miller
and George McCloud as the only four players to accomplish that
feat in NBA history.
BLAZING HIS OWN TRAIL: Damian Lillard’s 33 3-pointers made
through his first 10 games was the most 3-pointers made by any Trail
Blazer through the first 10 games in franchise history. Lillard also
became the first Portland player to have 200 points, 50 rebounds and
50 assists through the first 10 games since Clyde Drexler in 1993.
DYNAMIC DUO: LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard combined to score 65 points and shot 17-of-19 from the free throw
line on Dec. 23 against the Thunder. Together, the duo scored
Portland’s final 22 points of regulation and shot 7-of-11 from the
floor in the final 7:30 of the fourth quarter. On Dec. 19 in San
Antonio, Aldridge and Lillard combined for 75 points on 51.7%
shooting. That marked the highest scoring output the duo has
combined for in their two-plus years of playing together. The
previous high was 70 combined points (Dec. 12, 2014 vs. CHI).
