Meet Local Author: Dr. Chester Goad Friday, February 6th @ 1:30 p.m. Carol Darling Reading Room Dr. Chester Goad is a University Administrator and Graduate Instructor for Special Education. He is a licensed Special Education teacher, a former high school English teacher, former Principal and former US Congressional staffer. Dr. Goad is also co-author of Tennessee's “Dyslexia Is Real" bill, a leader in education, non-profit advocacy, parenting issues, and policy. He holds both a Master’s and Doctorate in Educational Leadership, and has been quoted in major newspapers, magazines, and media outlets such as US News, Yahoo, CNBC and more. Dr. Goad is an adult living with attention deficit and spends much of his time advocating for children and individuals with disabilities and learning differences like dyslexia and at-risk students. He and his wife live in Crossville, TN with their teenage son.
