SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2015 lifestyle G o s s i p Justin Bieber going sober with the help of his pastor T he ‘Boyfriend’ hitmaker - who recently released a video in which he apologised to his fans for being “arrogant and conceited” - is believed to have turned to Christian minister Carl Lentz, with whom he is close friends, to help him clean up his bad habits and give up drugs and alcohol. A source said: “There’s no one Justin looks up to more than Carl. He’s had a huge influence on him. “They spoke at length about how he can get his life and career back on track and both agreed that getting rid of alcohol and drugs was the natural first step.” It is thought the 20-year-old singer has been warned by his manager Scooter Braun that he won’t be producing any more records until he has cleaned up his act for good. The source told The Sun newspaper: “Justin has made promises like this before but this time we all genuinely believe he is clean. “His manager Scooter Braun was very clear that, until Justin sorted himself out, his music comeback was on hold.” Justin also reached out to Carl last year following his split from on-off girlfriend Selena Gomez. A source said at the time: “Those close to Justin were concerned and reached out to the one person he always listens to and really looks up to, his pastor, Carl Lentz. “Justin was all for it. There was no resistance on his part to go away for a couple of weeks for alone time, God time and some spiritual growth.” Noel Gallagher gets music questions wrong at parent quiz nights T he former Oasis star - who has sons, Donovan, seven, and four-year-old Sonny with wife Sara MacDonald and 15-yearold daughter Anais with first wife Meg Matthews - enjoys attending the events but thinks there should be more questions about Britpop to give him a chance. He said: “I’ve been to a couple but the trouble is, I usually get the music questions wrong. “It’s always, ‘What was Number 1 for 19 weeks in 1974?’ I dunno ... oh, Mungo Jerry. Which is when everyone on the table looks at me, as if to say, ‘I thought you were a musician? ‘Yeah, I am, but ask me some questions about Britpop.’ “But the singer/songwriter is not expecting his children to follow in his footsteps into the music industry because he insists they “don’t care” what he does as a career. He added: “My lads are more into ‘Star Wars’ than Jimi Hendrix. None of my kdis care about what I do for a living. “They’ve never know any different. It’s not like I was working at Kwik-Fit one day and the next I won ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. “Maybe if One Direction had released [Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds single] ‘In The Heat of the Moment’ it would have been my daughter’s favourite song of all time ... but I’m her dad.” Mark Ronson attacked by a swarm of killer bees T he ‘Uptown Funk’ hitmaker was left terrified during an interview with BBC Radio 1’s Jameela Jamil at a mansion in Hollywood after the pair were forced to flee the cloud of deadly flying insects, which were attracted to a nearby buffet. Jameela said: “We were doing an interview in this mansion in Hollywood Hills. It was open air and there was a massive feast that we’d laid out for Mark. “This huge cloud started coming towards us and we couldn’t work out what it was. “It turned out to be the biggest swarm of killer bees that I’ve ever seen. They descended on the buffet. “We had literally seconds to run into the house and get behind the glass. “It was the most scared I’ve ever been. I didn’t know what it was and then suddenly I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s killer bees! Those are killer bees!’ “I just ran, food flew everywhere and I destroyed the whole set. It was terrifying. We were both there and we just ran for it.” Jameela, 28, added she didn’t have time to concern herself with the 39-year-old producer’s safety and joked the speed of their swift exit would have been on par with Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt’s. She told The Sun newspaper: “Neither of us tried to save each other. It was every man for himself. It was like 500 bees. It was horrible. “I would never have left a man down, but we both turned into Usain Bolt then.” However, the encounter didn’t turn out to be a total disaster after Mark agreed to perform at Why Not People? - a music and events club set up by Jameela for people with disabilities. She explained: “Mark came back within about a minute saying, ‘Of course’. “I wouldn’t be friends with the kind of people that would say no to this. You’d have to be the Devil.” T Bruce ‘transitioning into a woman’ he ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star is said to be “happy” and “in a great space” after a source close to the family confirmed rumours he has decided to live as a female. The ‘Heat’ star appeared to be in good health when he attended an LA Lakers basketball game with Jack on January 16, but was photographed with a scarf around his neck. Asked where they would be without partners and children, guitarist Serge Pizzorno - who has two sons with girlfriend Amy - said: “Half of Kasabian would be in jail, the rest dead. I don’t mean to be morbid, but I’m not joking.” And his bandmate, father-of-one Tom Meighan, thinks the group would have had big problems if they had been around during the excesses of the 1980s as they would have had no reason to curb their partying. He said: “I’d be dead if it were the ‘80s, no question about it. What with Mˆtley Cr¸e and Guns N’ Roses? Yeah I’d be dead. I’d crash and burn. I mean it’s hard enough now when everyone gives a s**t about health and appearance.” Though they lead quieter lives these days, Serge insists he still has a “part of Lucifer” in him but ays his wilder streak is essential for his songwriting. He told Loaded magazine: “I do have a part of Lucifer in me. But I wouldn’t be able to write these tunes if sometimes I didn’t want to go to bed - ever. “Lucifer comes out as soon as I’m a few beers in, and has influenced many decisions on a night out. But I’m lucky. I think I had my path laid out for me and that’s to write and produce tunes.” The 250th celebratory issue of Loaded - which features Kasabian on the cover - is available to buy in both print and digital formats now.
