Applied Exegesis and Hermeneutics for Better Preaching
Dr. James R. Love, Sr.
This session will practically explain the two critical skills
necessary for effective preaching. In order to preach a text
of scripture one must have cultivated the skill set of
exegesis which deals with the art and science of
interpretation, and hermeneutics which deals with the
proper methods used in the process of interpretation.
African American Heritage Studies
featuring Dr. Deloris Carpenter
These two enriching sessions focus on African American history
in relation to the church. The first session will show you how to
teach African American history throughout the church year -complete with historical vignettes for all 52 Sundays. The second
session teaches how to celebrate Heritage Day by combining the
sermon and song to relive the social justice themes of great
sermons and speeches from the likes of Martin Luther King,
Fannie Lou Hamer and Lawrence Campbell.
Youth and Young Adult
Boot Camp
This track of workshops is designed
specifically for middle school, high school,
