Love, Sr. This session will practically explain the two critical skills necessary for effective preaching. In order to preach a text of scripture one must have cultivated the skill set of exegesis which deals with the art and science of interpretation, and hermeneutics which deals with the proper methods used in the process of interpretation. African American Heritage Studies featuring Dr. Deloris Carpenter These two enriching sessions focus on African American history in relation to the church. The first session will show you how to teach African American history throughout the church year -complete with historical vignettes for all 52 Sundays. The second session teaches how to celebrate Heritage Day by combining the sermon and song to relive the social justice themes of great sermons and speeches from the likes of Martin Luther King, Fannie Lou Hamer and Lawrence Campbell. Youth and Young Adult Boot Camp This track of workshops is designed specifically for middle school, high school, and college students. Participants will receive high quality, interactive training in the fundamentals of the Christian faith. The Boot Camp will begin with the "Keep It Real Friday" service on Friday evening, featuring praise and worship expressed in a variety of creative formats.
