A. A. 2014/2015
Art.1 – Politecnico di Milano and Rotary club Lecco Manzoni announce the 13° Edition of the Study Awards “Laure Larouzè” - 2014/2015 academic year. The competition

at the Politecnico di Milano - School of Architectural Engineering – and in particular to the "Sustainable Methodology Design Project" course under the supervision of
Prof. Massimo Tadi; as well as all students, enrolled in other courses, who could be interested in the subject. The architectural design competition for the "New addition of
the Diocesano Museum" will be based on the official “PRELIMINARY DESIGN DOCUMENT” for International Design Competition “Museo Diocesano” edited by
the City Development Authority Office of Design Competitions. City of Milan.

Art.2 – The aim of the contest prize is to stimulate, for the purpose of educational planning, the active participation and the proactive approach of the students of Art. 1.
Objective of the initiative is also to increase the level of knowledge and investigation of all integrated components that compose the architectural & urban design, working
on sustainable oriented projects. The competition theme is the architectural and urban design of a central area through the recovery and redesign of new functions,
spaces and services of public interest. The new addition to the Diocesano Museum, as an addition to the open cloister arrangement in the Santo Eustorgio complex, will
occupy the area between the Parco delle Basiliche and the Corso di Porta Ticinese which has remained somewhat ill-defined since the wartime destruction. The challenge
of the project, based on the international design competition which took place in 2007-8, is to design as a suitably-organized whole that deals with a number of problems in
urban design and townscape: the relationship with the Corso di Porta Ticinese, the rehabilitation of the blind elevations of the buildings adjoining the empty space left by the
wartime demolitions, the provision of proper access to the Parco delle Basiliche, and the relationships with the open cloister and the Santo Eustorgio monument complex as
a whole. The project of the new addition will be based on the official “PRELIMINARY DESIGN DOCUMENT” for International Design Competition “Museo Diocesano”
by the City Development Authority Office of Design Competitions. City of Milan. The official PDD as part of this study award gives to the entrants a detailed explanation of
the following matters: dimension; uses and functions of the new addition, subject of the competition; strategies with regard to a wide range of energy and environmental
rd
aspects. At the end of the lessons of the academic year 2014/2015, specifically the 3 February 2012 at 12:00 P.M., teams of competing students will deliver the agreed
