The GreenTec Awards are an initiative by the engineers Sven Krüger and Marco
Voigt. Since 2008 they are annually hosted in order to improve the public
perception of environmental technologies and commitment.

More than 200 projects participated in the 2014 competition, 15 percent of which
were international contributions from Europe, the US and Asia. The online voting
counted roughly 100.000 registered votes from all around the globe. The
application process is accredited by TÜV NORD.
