He began his extensive 45-year career in Denmark as an orthodontic instructor, where he also learned from Arne Bjork and others how the face developed. Dr. Jasper has a private practice in Fairview, Oregon and holds several patents on Class II Correctors, which have been used around the world. TOPIC Intermaxillary Edgewise (And a Look at Overjet Appliances through the Eyes of Physics) The title of this presentation may seem like a contradiction of terms because there are many edgewise appliances that are used all over the world, but they are never intermaxillary. There are also many intermaxillary machines that are used routinely by all of us, but they are never edgewise! Dr. Jasper will explore this disconnect and look at all overjet appliances through the eyes of physics – the ultimate in evidence. OBJECTIVES Participants should be able to: 1. Realize they are using uncontrolled tipping forces with their current attempts to eliminate overjet 2. Understand that there are only four categories of appliances possible 3. Choose the category that ﬁts their treatment goals and treatment plans the best 4.
