NZSI Teacher Training Programme Unit 4 Violin th 27 September – 1st October, 2014 In conjunction with the Wellington Branch Spring Workshop Training Course: Unit 4 comprises of 16 hours class + 8 hours documented observation (during the workshop). This unit of study covers the detailed study and analysis of the development of technique and musicianship through the repertoire in the Revised Suzuki Violin Volume Four. Location: During the workshop, the course will take place at Chilton St. James School, 124 Waterloo Road, Lower Hutt, Wellington. Training on Saturday 27th September – venue to be confirmed. Dates and Hours: The training will take place from Saturday 27th September starting at 2pm through to Wednesday 1st October and will include observations and training hours from approximately 9.00 – 6.00 during the workshop Sunday to Tuesday, and on Wednesday 1st October, it will finish approximately mid-afternoon. All pre-requisites and requirements of the course must be observed with the exception of the written work requirement which may be waived. Participation will be recognized as ‘refresher’ training and entered into the teacher's training record on the NZSI database. The fee for the course as a refresher will be $187.50 GST incl. Deadline for enrolment: Friday 15th August, 2014 is the enrolment deadline. Payment in full is required at that time. Any enrolments after the 15th August will be accepted at the discretion of NZSI and will incur a $20.00 late fee. Attendance Requirements: Once a trainee has enrolled for the course, non-attendance at a particular session cannot be waived or made up during the course. Please note that if you are doing this course for accreditation you must stay for the whole session. Prerequisites: ✱ Each trainee must be a 2014/2015 member of the New Zealand Suzuki Institute at the teacher membership category ($90.00 or $80.00 full time students). Membership forms available at www.suzuki.org.nz ✱ Unit 3 must be completed before taking Unit 4. ✱ Trainees will have memorized all the pieces in the Revised Suzuki Violin Volume Four. Please Note: The running of this course is dependent on a minimum number of participants. The course will be confirmed by email on Friday 22nd August, 2014. Cancellation Policy: If minimum numbers are not met and the course does not run, enrolment fees will be refunded in full.
