Short Bio
I am currently a Professor at Telecom ParisTech, holder of the Big Data and Market
Insights Chair and head of the IC2 group (www.infres.enst.fr/wp/ic2/). The group
is composed of ten senior researchers and a dozen of postdoc and PhD students,
with strong expertise in the foundations of database systems, web data management,
human-computer interaction and cognitive science.
My research interests cover several aspects of the Web and database fields: large
scale data management and mining, recommender systems, web information extraction, large graphs and social networks analysis. I am the author and co-author of
3
more than forty technical publications in international conferences and journals, national conferences, and book chapters. I participated and led research actions in national and European research projects (IP/FP7, ANR, FEDER, .) for several years.
My main research achievements are on XQuery optimization (CIKM08), information
extraction from the structured web (VLDB10, ICDE12), and social networks (DBSocial11, WWW11, CIKM12, RSWeb13). I participated to several national and European research projects (five national projects since 2008, and one FP7 IP project).
I led the research on social networks in the ANR-ISICIL project (2009-2012), on version control of XML documents in the ANR-LPOD project (2009-2011) and in the
FEDER-DROD project (2011-2013).
I received an Habilitation degree (HDR) from the University Pierre & Marie Curie, a
Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University Paris-Dauphine and a Master degree
in IT from the University of Paris II (Institut IMAC). I spent two years as an assistant professor at the University of Paris-Dauphine, before joining Telecom ParisTech
(formerly ENST) in 1998.

2.2
Main research achievements
My research interests are in the issues raised in modern data and knowledge systems,
especially on the World Wide Web and in collaborative contexts oriented towards
social and peer-to-peer networks. My work covers theoretical foundations, practical
solutions and applications of data and knowledge management systems. The main
focus is on:
• Database systems, XML and semi-structured data, query optimization
• Social networks, trust, privacy and confidentiality management
• Web information extraction
• Recommender systems
• GIS, moving objects and spatio-temporal data management
• Data evolution and version management
