2014 VBS a Great “Trip”
Our week of Vacation Bible School was a great time had by all!
We had a total of 20 kids join us. 3 of the children were from St.
Peter’s, 11 were return guests and 6 were completely new to us!
We had a lot to compete with between school’s letting out so late
because of snow day make ups, vacations, and other area VBS
schedules. But when all was said and done, our group was just
perfect!
Throughout the week, the children learned about how other children in the world live through their lessons, crafts, music and
games. Daily scriptures were given along with each lesson. The
main scripture for the week was from John 15:12, “This is my
commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”.
We visited Greece, Australia, Seneca Nation, Israel and Brazil.
Each day provided us with exciting and interesting facts, all while
teaching us that even though we seem so different from each other, LOVE is still the same, GOD is still the same.

St. Vincent UCC and VBS Sunday
On Sunday, June 29th, we welcomed Pastor Susan and her church, St. Vincent, to worship with us and
celebrate VBS Sunday. The St. Vincent Choir, led by Keith Patterson , accompanied by Deborah Rick,
sang a beautiful tune in our balcony. Our usual Sunday sermon was replaced with a presentation of the
week’s highlights from VBS and scripture readings which the children learned throughout the week here
at St. Peter’s Pikeland VBS. We had over 100 people here to worship with us that day. It was a beautiful
morning full of such love, support, fellowship and faith!

"Rock on the Hill"
A St. Peter's Music Festival
Join us for our third annual celebration of music and
community at St. Peter's UCC! On Saturday, September 27th from 1-5 pm, live bands will keep your whole
family entertained while you sit outside and listen to
the music. All proceeds to benefit the St. Peter's Music Ministry. Bring your friends and family; all are
welcome!
Food will be available for purchase as well as CDs
from some of the bands in our line up. Bring your
lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a great afternoon
here on the hill!
Room to Read
STOP! Before you even think about giving away or
throwing away those used, “in good condition” books,
please bring them to St. Peter’s! Our Room to Read mission team will be holding our annual book sale in Fellowship Hall starting Sunday, September 7th, and we
need books! So look in your den, attic, family room
(and elsewhere) and bring your “gently used” books (no
text books please) to Fellowship Hall this summer.
Thanks!
Mark this date on your calendar and be sure to tell all
of your friends and family. This is a fun gathering in
such a beautiful setting. Last year, we had over 150
people attend. We’d love to see this event keep growing and your participation is requested to make it a
great success! Bands are already starting to book!
See you on the hill!
