Annual Report - YWCA Hanover

YWCA Hanover
2013-2014 Annual Report
YWCA Hanover is dedicated to
eliminating racism, empowering women
and promoting peace, justice,
freedom and dignity for all.
A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT
Dear Members & Volunteers,
Since 1920, YWCA Hanover has diligently and successfully served the community.
In the past 94 years, the volunteers and staff of the YWCA Hanover have seen successes,
celebrations, and triumphs as well as challenges, sorrows, and unfortunate endings.
The YWCA Hanover continues to forge ahead with the mission and conviction that our
foremothers displayed when creating this local institution – to empower women and
eliminate discrimination.
We, the Board of Directors and Staff, are determined and dedicated to providing vital
services in domestic violence, diversity awareness, and childcare, and we are committed
to developing exciting mission based new programs in the coming year.
The YWCA recently completed a strategic planning process to assist with the planning and
direction of our future. As part of the strategic planning process, we surveyed community
leaders and the feedback from these individuals has been instrumental in setting the
course of our future programs.
Armed with our new Strategic Plan and dedicated Board of Directors and Staff, WE are
determined to implement new programs and grow existing programs ~ empowering
women and girls of all ages in the Hanover community. However, we will not be able to
fulfill our plan and mission without our members’ and volunteers’ continued and increased
support. Further, we must grow both our membership and volunteer base. We encourage
you to assist us with these endeavors.
As members, volunteers and supporters, I urge you to stay closely connected with the
YWCA as we expand our reach into the community. Your financial and volunteer support is
needed now more than ever in order for the YWCA to continue to serve the women and
girls of Hanover. Please help us achieve our goals.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff, I wish you a prosperous, healthy and happy
New Year and look forward to strengthening our relationship with you in 2015!
Sincerely,
Linda Siegle, Esq.
Board President, YWCA Hanover
