Link your offices with a
robust single network
that gives you the
flexibility to manage the
data network yourself.
Optus Evolve Ethernet WAN provides flexible,
scalable and carrier grade Ethernet services
allowing you to link and control your business
sites. Share information over a national network,
design and manage the Layer 3 IP VPN network
and enable the convergence of data, voice and
application networks. Optus Evolve Ethernet
WAN is a Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS)
based network supported by fully meshed
network design.
Key benefits
Multiple offices, one national network
A flexible, scalable national networking solution.
Utilising fibre and DSL technology, the Optus
coverage footprint extends beyond major capital
and regional cities to support organisations
requirements for connections wherever they may
be. Optus Evolve Ethernet WAN, with various
access options to connect sites to the VPLS
core, ensures a scalable network with minimal
cost and network interruption.
Fully meshed network options based on VPLS
technology.
bility to create and manage your own IP

Network.
Wide coverage footprint using fibre and digital
subscriber line (DSL).
Accurate and comprehensive billing layout, with
charges on a site-by-site basis.
Your network, your way
Single reporting platform providing utilisation
and availability reports and QoS reporting.
Optus Evolve Ethernet WAN provides Layer 2
fully meshed network topology enabling flexible
network design.
Comprehensive Service Level Agreements
(SLA’s) and 24 x 7 customer support.
Multiple city organisations appear as a single
LAN, enabling varied applications to run on the
network. As a Layer 2 Network, Optus Evolve
Ethernet WAN does not depend on IP or other
network protocols. Therefore applications,
services and protocols other then IP can run
across the network. Point to Point and Point
to Multipoint (Hub and Spoke) topologies are
also supported.
You’re in control
Optus Evolve Ethernet WAN offers greater
flexibility and cost reductions by putting you
in control of the network. Unlike Layer 3 IP
VPN networks, you have the ability to create,
configure and manage your own Layer 3
network.
Online reporting on service
performance
The Optus Evolve Ethernet WAN product comes
with advanced reporting functionality using
eCare, Optus’ online reporting system. The
eCare platform is hosted on an Internet-facing
web server, enabling your administrators to
access this web based reporting via a Java
script web browser and an Internet connection.
Reports available include Port Utilisation and
Port Availability.

Note: #Latency, jitter and packet loss values are indicative, and actual performance may vary from the values quoted.
*Actual throughput may be less than the value indicated due to network overhead at the time of use, user equipment and the source of data.
**The Availability is dependent on customer implementing failover from one access link to another.
~Actual speed will depend on line quality and distance from exchange.
