Deschutes VFW Post 4108 Scholarship
This is a scholarship opportunity for a first place prize of $500 offered by the Veteran’s of
Foreign Wars, second place prize or $300 and third place prize of $200 from the Ladies Ausiliary
Deschutes Post 4108, located in Redmond, Oregon.
The purpose of this scholarship is to promote education. The Redmond VFW is most interested
in students seeking vocational education, members of families that are in the armed forces, and
from single parent homes. Higher evaluations will be assessed for those who meet these
criteria. It is important to note that grades are a secondary issue for this scholarship.
Final Date for application: March 15, 2014
The requirements to apply for this scholarship are the following:
1.
Be a graduating senior from a central Oregon high school and within the jurisdiction of
Deschutes VFW Post 4108, Redmond, Oregon,
2.
Enroll into a school of high learning for the next term (college or trade school),
3.
Write a 250 to 300 word essay explaining your need for the scholarship,
4.
Be a United States citizen.
