And whereas, the President, Shree Damodar
Bhajani Saptah Utsav Samittee, Vasco-da-Gama,
Goa, vide application dated 19-7-2014 has informed
that “Shree Damodar Bhajani Saptah Utsav
Samittee” are celebrating their annual “Shree
Damodar Bhajani Saptah Utsav” on 2nd August
and 3rd August, 2014 and has sought permission
to block the roads at (1) In front of Shree Damodar
Temple, Vasco from 31st July to 9th August, 2014
(2) In front of Natraj Theatre, Vasco on 2nd August,
2014 and (3) In front of Cosme Mathias Menezes
Pharmacy, Vasco on 13th August, 2014 on the said
dates to perform the vocal classical programmes of
different renowned artists of other States.
And whereas, the Superintendent of Police
(South), Margao-Goa, in reply to application dated
14-7-2014 from the Chief Officer, Mormugao
Municipal Council, has given No Objection vide

to Hotel Leena, opp. St. Andrew’s Church for
vehicular traffic from 02-08-2014 to 11-8-2014 during
Dev Damodar Saptah Festival.
And whereas, the Superintendent of Police
(South), Margao, in reply to application dated
19-7-2014 from the President, Shree Damodar
Bhajani Saptah Utsav Samittee, Vasco-da-Gama, Goa
has given No Objection vide Report No. SP/South
Goa/118/2014 dated 30-07-2014.
And whereas, considering the complaints from
the residents regarding illegal occupation of
Swatantra Path road by furniture vendors from Joshi
Chowk to I.O.C. Junction, it is decided to restrict
the furniture vendors to part of Swatantra Path road
from Casa Pracosa Material Movement Pvt. Ltd.
Office to I.O.C. Junction thereby keeping Swatantra
Path road from Joshi Junction (Railway Station) to
PWD Office free from any parking for smooth
movement of vehicular traffic towards Datatraya
Deshpande Road.
Now therefore, I, Venancio S. Furtado, District
Magistrate, South Goa, Margao do hereby order
under Section 115 and 116 of the Motor Vehicles
Act, 1988 (Central Act 59 of 1988) read with
Government Notification No. 5/28/88/TPT (Part)
dated 26th September, 1989, being satisfied that it
is necessary in the interest of public safety and
convenience temporarily block/closure of the
portion of the roads on date and time and other
details as shown in the table given below subject

F. L. Gomes Road and Kariwada Road from
2nd August, 2014 to 8th August, 2014.
10. There shall be regular dril of fire tender within
the Saptah fair area, hence road shall be open
internally, in which fire tender movement
shall be without obstruction.
11. The Organizer should adhere to all the rules
and regulation in force.
12. The Order passed by the District Collector
vide No. 37/1/92-MAG/Saptah-2014/06206
dated 31-07-2014 shall be followed and
adhered to.
