Dear Early Head Start Parents, CALLING ALL PARENTS OF INFANTS & TODDLERS! EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU & YOUR CHILD! The Head Start Birth to Four Early Education Program would like to invite you to participate in the Early Head Start Home Based Program this summer from June 8th through August 21st, 2015. This is an opportunity for you and your child to continue learning together in the home setting, and work on their individual goals. As your child’s first teacher, you are so important to their development: 1. They pay attention to what you say and do. 2. They learn by watching and listening to you and other family members day after day. 3. Your home is filled with exciting things for them to see and do. 4. Children can find objects in your own kitchen, living room, bedroom, and even in the closet that are fun and can help them learn. The Early Head Start Summer Home Based Program was created to help you help your child continue to grow and develop their school readiness skills and competence. A home visiting teacher will be assigned to support you in activities and experiences which will further their learning. What to Expect: • • Once a week for 1½ hrs, this teacher will come to your home, and together with you and your family, will plan activities for you to do with your child during home visits and during the week between visits. Twice a month for 2 hrs. , you and your child will meet with other children and their parent to get to know one another and share interesting experiences. These “socialization” meetings will be held at your Early Head Start Center and will include a snack for you and your child. We will provide transportation for this event. To participate in the Summer Home Based Program, please complete the attached registration form and submit to your Center Manager. Parents must be enrolled in the Early Head Start Program. Ellos ponen atenciόn a lo que usted dice y hace, 2. Ellos(as) aprenden viéndole y escuchándole a usted y a otros miembros de la familia dίa tras dίa, 3. Su casa está llena de cosas interesantes para ver y hacer para sus bebes y niños pequeños, 4. Los niños pueden encontrar objetos divertidos en su propia cocina, sala, recámara e incluso en su closet, que los ayudan a aprender. El Programa Home Based de verano, fue creado para ayudarle a ayudar a su hijo(a) a seguir creciendo y desarrollar sus habilidades y conocimientos. Se asignará una maestra para apoyo en las actividades y experencias que fomenten su aprendizaje. ¿Como funcionará este programa? • • Una vez por semana, la maestra irá a su casa durante 90 minutos (1 ½ hr.) y junto con usted y su familia planearán actividades para su niño(a) durante las visitas a la casa y durante los demás dίas de la semana entre las visitas. Dos veces al mes, por 2 horas,. usted y su niño(a) se reunirán con otros niños(as) y sus padres y tendrán tiempo para llegar a conocerce unos a otros y compartir experiencias interesantes. Estas juntas de “socializaciόn” se llevarán a cabo en su centro de Early Head Start y se le proporcionará merienda para usted y su niño(a). Se provera transportacion para este actividad.
