Collinsville Booborowie
Collinsville is still the most prolific seller of world-record ram-selling prices. Collinsville started
selling at the Adelaide sales in 1930’s and has a long history of providing industry influencing
genetics. This has continued into the last decade with Collinsville recording top-prices for sires
that have bred on with great success.
2013 Adelaide sale sold 9 to $34,000 and averaged: $12,611. The 2014 polls have excellent
poll factor and conformation. Most are thicker rich stud wool sheep. The horn sheep are big and
powerful.
Collinsville retains 50% semen marketing rights on all lots.

The Adelaide ACTION will start straight away here – in pen 1. This ram has attracted huge
interest from his showing at Hay and then Bendigo. A Twin, he has excellent size and structure.
An athletic sire with overall balance and correctness. His wool has developed into the status of
superb rich stud wool. For a large plain-bodied ram his wool had ample thickness and lock.

The Ashby Family has a long history of breeding Stud Merinos, dating back to the early 1900’s.
The Stud, at Hallett was originally known as Ashrose, and was named after Mary Pluckrose, the
wife of W.B. Ashby, who founded the stud in 1910. After a Family restructure in 1996, Graham,
Tom & Matt founded North Ashrose as we know it today. Situated centrally between Spalding
and Gulnare in 18 inch rainfall area.
From a Collinsville blood base the stud has a solid background of structural soundness and constitution within the ewe flock, their five year micron average being 20.9.
We recommend inspection of their 2014 team.

The Glenlea Park Merino Stud was founded by Glen Wallis in 1964 on Mt Glenview bloodlines. It continued as a Collinsville daughter stud for the next 25 years, becoming renowned for
its large framed, heavy cutting sheep.
Peter Wallis joined his father Glen on the stud in 1992 and Bill Walker Classing’s Ltd was employed as stud classer and consultant. In an attempt to improve wool quality, fertility and type,
a shift in breeding was made and sires and semen was sought from Charinga, Gowandale,
Leachim and Wallaloo Park. Impacts were evident very early and cull rates progressively lessened. The adult stud ewe flock averages around 8kgs of 19.5micron.
Note: Glenlea Park retain 50% semen marketing rights.

shape while maintaining wool density and not sacrificing the quality of their fine and fine/

Hilton Heath Merino and Poll Merino studs are run at Sanderston, east of Mount Lofty Ranges
and at Keith in the South East on properties with rainfall between 275 millimetres and 425mm.
The stud consistently produces high-yielding wools, and in the past few years has received
higher prices in wool sales. Higher prices mean more money in the bank. If the tip and nourishment is right you can keep the dust out of the wool and that is where the higher wool prices
come in.

Ticks a lot of boxes.
This ram could go under the radar.
We consider him to be a ‘top stud sire’ prospect.
There is not much wrong with him. He is a big sheep with excellent conformation. He
stands square and is good on his feet. He is a strongly built robust ram well covered with
rich, well-marked stud wool – similar to his father. He has attributes that are hard to find
in one package.

Wow!
Something special here!
This ram attracted huge interest in Bendigo. A pure stud
sire. Possibly the best wooled ram that The Carter family have ever offered at auction.
With great presence, this well-made sire has great spring of rib and running one fold loose front.
He presents a soft rippled muzzle that leads to a wool-growing skin of the highest calibre. ‘A ripping wool’ a rich boldly-crimped stud wool with superb texture and handle.
WELL DONE to the Carter family for holding the line and for giving all buyers equal
opportunity to bid on this outstanding sheep in Adelaide.
