Pathway to Apprenticeships

Blackpool Pathway To Apprenticeships Directory of programmes available for unemployed young people A Guide for Professionals 1
Pathway to Apprenticeships Programmes Introduction for Professionals It can be confusing for professionals knowing exactly what’s out there to support unemployed young people – especially the most vulnerable taking their first steps back into learning and employment. There is a wide range of apprenticeships on offer but many unemployed young people are not ready for an apprenticeship for academic, social, emotional or other reasons. The “Pathway to Apprenticeships” Group (partners from the public and voluntary sectors, colleges and training providers) has been formed to help create a smoother pathway for vulnerable unemployed young people. The Groups first task was to pull together the Pathway To Apprenticeships Programme – a directory of opportunities of “first steps” back into learning and employment The Group felt it was important to get this information into the professionals hands quickly in a simple word document and evaluate how useful this is before developing the document further. On behalf of the Group I hope you find this useful Mike Taplin, Senior Manager (Post 16 Learning and Employment), Blackpool Council 2
