Back Ground and Position Summary:
The United Arab Emirates Embassy in Tokyo is a dynamic and exciting workplace that has wide range of activities that
require a high level of innovation and professionalism. Your will be part of the team in the embassy who is actively
contributing to the development of the bilateral relations between UAE and Japan. You will be responsible for the delivery
of accounting services covering a wide and varied range.

Main duties and responsibilities:
Participate in creating the annual budget in coordination with each organizational unit within the embassy
Assist in preparing monthly balance sheets and closing accounts
Participate in developing annual procurement plan and ensure execution as per the embassy’s policies &
regulations
Prepare daily deposits
Compile monthly reports
Maintain bank accounts
Preparing invoices and payment related to payroll reporting.
Other duties as requested.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following key experience/skills:
• At least 5 years’ relative business experience of working as certified accountant
• Appropriate qualification for Accountant Activities
• Knowledge of principles, methods, and practices related to payroll activities.
• Knowledge of accounting procedures and practices.
• Computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as administration skills.
• Strong English/Japanese ability, conversational Arabic is a plus but not a requirement.
• Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
• Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous tasks and to prioritize scheduling of work.

The diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates and Japan were established in 1971.
The UAE Embassy in Tokyo was inaugurated in December 1973, while the Japanese Embassy in Abu Dhabi was
inaugurated in April 1974.
Since the historic visit of the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to Japan in 1990, the relations between our two
friendly countries have witnessed a great leap in almost all fields.
Ever since the inauguration of the UAE Embassy in 1971, a number of Ambassadors did head the UAE mission in Japan.

--------------In just over four decades, the UAE as a nation has transformed from a tribal culture reliant on agriculture and fishing to an
entrepreneurial success story with world-class infrastructure. The leadership has improved education (effectively
eliminating illiteracy), advanced health care and embraced change as the UAE modernizes, consistent with its history and
cultural values.
The UAE is also strengthening institutions of government to ensure a transparent legal system with full regard for the
quality of life of all citizens and residents. Eight members of the Federal Cabinet are women. And in November 2015, Dr.
Amal Al Qubaisi became President of the Federal National Council, making her the region’s first female leader of a
national assembly.
The UAE is a member of the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the Arab League and the Gulf Cooperation
Council.
Today the UAE is a strong, vibrant and modern nation that welcomes people from all around the world.
The UAE is the home of the largest Japanese community in the whole Middle East & North Africa regions, with more than
300 Japanese companies operating in the UAE and serving larger geographical areas.
