Program: Attached you will find the actual program. Here some important facts and hints:
Please be aware that snow is possible and chilly weather probable at the Baltic coast in the end of March. But
we keep our fingers crossed!
March, 25 (Tuesday): The workshop starts at 14:30 with lectures. You are kindly requested to plan your arrival,
check in at the Majuwi, and install your posters between 13:00 and 14:30. At 14:00 a small picnic
will be prepared. At 20:00 an ICLEA public lecture will be given by Thomas Terberger (Hannover) –
‘Neolithic revolution’ in the North? New insights into the transition from late hunter-gatherers to
early farmers in the western Baltic at the Pommersches Landesmuseum in the heart of Greifswald.
A transfer by bus will be organized. The lecture will be given in German to English slides.
March, 26 (Wednesday): Between 15:30‐18:30 a short excursion to the field sites of WP3 (Eldena Forest) takes
place. For the excursions you need field wear (sturdy shoes, rain jacket).
March, 27 (Thursday): At 19:00 we will celebrate our official ICLEA Dinner at the Majuwi. Afterwards we will
come together at the old students club ‘GeoKeller’ (Jahn-Str. 16). At 21:00 a transfer by bus will be
organized.
March, 28 (Friday): Check out will be in the early morning around 7:00. The excursion to Rügen Island starts at
7:30 by bus. Car drivers can follow the bus to Stralsund (parking there and switch to the bus), since
the connection for your home travel across the Autobahn A20 is (a little) faster from Stralsund than
from Greifswald. The excursion halts around 16:30 in Stralsund and finishes around 17:00 at
Majuwi in Greifswald.

Presentations
Language:
Workshop language will be English. German language in oral presentation and discussion is
possible in exceptional cases.
Language for poster and presentation slides is English in general.
Oral:
For each work package the WP leaders will give brief overview talks (15 min) and we invite you
for intensive discussions (15 min). Additionally, synthesis talks will either introduce ongoing
research cooperation between work packages or stimulate such cooperation.
Poster:
Posters will be shortly introduced by the author in max. 5 min (3 slides). We want to prepare a
single power-point file for each WP including all individual slides for all poster presentations.
Therefore, we kindly ask you to send your three slides (ppt format) latest on Friday, March
23 to Markus Schwab ([email protected]).
All posters will be on display during the whole workshop and available for discussion at any
time.

(ZOB, on the left when you leave the train station) to Wieck/Brücke (between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm every 15
min). Leave the bus at the station Wieck/Brücke. From there, Majuwi is just 200 m on the right side of the river
