Introduction Congratulations on acquiring ZOOM Configuration for ZPU-5000 Standalone or ZOOM Configuration for ZPU-5000 Standalone with Modbus. This guide provides information about installing and updating. 2. Minimum System Requirements Recommended Hardware x Processor and RAM: Minimum Windows requirements x CD or DVD drive x SVGA at 1280 x 1024, 32-bit color x 700 MB of free disk space on the installation drive x 1 available USB Port Operating System requirements x Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012 x Also available with limitations: Windows Vista 3. Before Performing an Update Make sure the following steps are properly completed: 1. Close ZOOM Configuration. 2. Make a backup copy of your configuration file (with a .config extension). 3. Uninstall any previous version of ZOOM Configuration, ZOOM ZPU-5000 Standalone, ZOOM Modbus Standalone, and ZOOM Configuration Settings. These products may also be called ZOOM Platform Standalone, ZOOM Look 5000 Standalone, and ZOOMPCU5000 Standalone depending on which version you had. Windows XP in default XP view / Server 2003 a) From the Start menu, select Control Panel. b) Click the Add or Remove Programs icon. c) For each ZOOM program you need to remove, select the program name, and click Remove. Windows 7 / Vista / Server 2008 a) From the Start Menu, select Control Panel. b) In Classic View, double-click on Programs and Features. In Control Panel Home, under Programs, click Uninstall a program. c) For each ZOOM program you need to remove, select the program name, and click Uninstall. Alternatively, right-click on the program, and select Uninstall. Windows 8 a) Press the Windows key to open the Start screen. Right-click on the background. Select All apps. Then, select Control Panel. b) In Classic View, double-click Programs and Features. In Control Panel Home, under Programs, click Uninstall a program. c) For each ZOOM program you need to remove, select the program name, and click Uninstall. Alternatively, right-click the program and select Uninstall. Then, select Control Panel. e) In Classic View, double-click Programs and Features. In Control Panel Home , under Programs, click Uninstall a program. f) For each ZOOM program you need to remove, select the program name, and click Uninstall. Alternatively, right-click on the program, and select Uninstall. 4. If your previous version was 6.2 or 6.4, uninstall Crystal Report for .NET Framework 2.0 (x86). 6 ZOOM® Configuration for ZPU-5000 Standalone Version 7.1 - Installation Guide 4. Installation Complete the following steps: 1. Install ZOOM Configuration (Disc 1 of your installation discs). The ZOOM_Configuration_Standalone_Setup.exe installation program will guide you through the installation steps. 2. Install ZOOM ZPU5000 Standalone (Disc 2 of your installation discs). The ZOOM_ZPU5000_Standalone_Setup.exe installation program will guide you through the installation. 3. If you purchased ZOOM Configuration for ZPU-5000 Standalone with Modbus, install ZOOM Modbus (Disc 3 of your installation discs). The ZOOM_Modbus_Standalone_Setup.exe installation program will guide you through the installation. 4. Install ZOOM Configuration Settings. The ZOOM_Configuration_Settings_Setup.exe installation program will guide you through the installation steps. 5. If this is a first installation, you are now ready to create your configuration with ZOOM Configuration. If it was an update, use ZOOM Configuration to update the configuration. You only need to open the configuration file and resave it. 6. Once you have completed creating or updating your configuration with ZOOM Configuration, you will need to export the configuration to a USB flash drive. Equipment Update After updating the configuration, equipment firmware and configuration files must also be updated. 1. Copy the CE5 folder from your ZOOM ZPU5000 Standalone installation disc to a USB flash drive. Warning ! You must copy the whole CE5 folder, not only its contents. Copy the entire folder to the root level of the USB flash drive. 2. Open the \CE5\Update folder on the USB flash drive, and keep only the ZPUManager subfolder. Delete or rename all other folders. 3. Insert the USB flash drive in the ZPU-5000 dedicated USB port. The System OK LED will flash yellow while the update is in progress. 4. When the message «System needs to restart, remove USB key » appears, remove the USB flash drive. The system will automatically reboot to complete the update process. 5. Delete the CE5 folder from the USB flash drive. 6. Copy the CE5 folder again from your ZOOM ZPU5000 Standalone installation disc to the USB flash drive. 7. If you purchased ZOOM Configuration for ZPU-5000 Standalone with Modus, you will need to copy the CE5 folder from your ZOOM Modbus installation disc to your USB flash drive. 8. Insert the USB flash drive into the dedicated USB port on your equipment. The System OK LED will flash yellow while the update is in progress. 9. When the message «System needs to restart, remove USB key » appears, remove the USB flash drive. The system will automatically reboot to complete the update process. This operation may take several minutes, in some instances, over an hour. Messages displayed on the VFD screen will allow you to follow the progression of the update. 10.Import the previously exported configuration files with ZOOM Configuration. This is done by pressing the Menu button on the front of the ZPU-5000 unit, selecting the Configuration option and selecting the Import all Configurations option. A message will be displayed, asking you to insert the USB flash drive containing the previously exported configuration files. Insert the USB flash drive as instructed and press the Enter button to continue. 11.When the import process is completed, the message « Reboot is needed (menu MAINTENANCE) » will be displayed. Press twice on Cancel to return to the main menu, select the Maintenance option and select Restart Unit.
