Information: ECOICOP
ECOICOP refers to the European Classification of Individual Consumption according to
Purpose, used in the compilation of the HICP.
Regulation 2016/792, published on 11 May 2016, mandates that HICP and HICP-CT series
shall be further disaggregated into the categories of the ECOICOP. In practical terms this
means the addition of a new, more detailed level (sub-class level or level 5) to the existing
HICP classification. Data for this more detailed level are now available for several EU
Member States. The release of the data for the remaining countries is planned for early 2017.
The full European Classification of Individual Consumption according to Purpose (ECOICOP) is
accessible from Eurostat’s classification server.
L'ECOICOP désigne la classification selon la nomenclature européenne des fonctions de la
consommation individuelle, utilisée pour la collecte de l'indice des prix à la consommation
harmonisé (IPCH).
D'après le règlement 2016/792, publié le 11 mai 2016, l'IPCH et l'indice des prix à la
consommation harmonisé à taux de taxation constant (IPCH-TC) doivent être ventilés selon
les catégories de l'ECOICOP. Concrètement, il s'agit de l'addition d'un nouveau niveau, plus
détaillé (cinquième sous-groupe ou niveau 5) à la classification IPCH existante. Les données
pour ce niveau plus détaillé sont maintenant disponibles pour plusieurs États membres. La
publication des données pour les pays restants est prévue pour début 2017.
La classification complète selon la nomenclature européenne des fonctions de la
consommation individuelle (ECOICOP) est accessible depuis le serveur des classifications
d'Eurostat.

Die Verordnung 2016/792 vom 11. Mai 2016 sieht vor, dass HVPI und HVPI-CT gemäß der
ECOICP untergliedert werden. Praktisch bedeutet dies, daß die bislang im HVPI bestehenden
Gliederungsebenen um eine weitere, detailliertere Ebene (Ebene 5) ergänzt werden.
Daten für diese Ebene sind nun erstmals für mehrere Mitgliedstaaten verfügbar. Angaben für
die restlichen Länder sollen Anfang 2017 bereitgestellt werden.
