SPOTLIGHT ON OUR EMPLOYEES: Zoudensh (Zee) Stewart Brought to you by the Annual Employee Appreciation Fund Committee Named by an Ethiopian friend of her mother, Zoudensh means “crown”. (Her mother is Barbara Harris, Lead Housekeeper and Assistant to Frank O’Dowd!). Zee works as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) and Unit Clerk in the Medical Center on an as-needed basis. She also works with Tracey Lundy (Medical Center Activities Director) one day a week doing activities with the Residents in the Medical Center. She has been working at Canterbury Woods for about two months. Her favorite part of the job is getting to know the residents, playing games and taking them for walks. Her previous positions include Health Clerk at Forest Grove Elementary School in Pacific Grove and working as a CNA for Central Coast Kids and Families, where she accompanied special needs children to/from and during school. She was an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer for Community Human Services in Monterey writing grants, which lead to a permanent position. Zee graduated from Pacific Grove High School and became a CNA in 2009. Currently she attends Monterey Peninsula College where she is taking the prenursing courses in preparation for applying to the Nursing Program next year. The family lives in Pebble Beach and includes her husband, Anthony (who works for the State), Angelia (21), Azenay (17) Aubrianna (11), Toni (5), A.J. (4) and her mother, Barbara. Angelia graduates in January with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of La Verne in Southern California. Azenay is heading for her first year at George Fox University in Newburg, Oregon to major in Psychology. Aubrianna is in seventh grade, Toni is in kindergarten and AJ is in preschool. When not working Zoudensh enjoys spending time with her children, going to the beach and walking in the forest. Returning to horseback riding is a goal. Zee would like to thank the residents and staff for the warm welcome she has received here.
