Business Development Manager for Materials Education and Research (German speaking)
An exciting opportunity to join a successful and growing international team based in Cambridge,
UK. This full-time, permanent position is an ideal job for a bright, enthusiastic person with an
entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for materials and engineering, looking to develop further their
business, technical, and soft skills.
The Position
Build strategic relationships in German speaking and Eastern European countries with
academics and professional institutions
Organise and run meetings over the internet and face-to-face with academics to explore
their teaching and demonstrate the value of CES EduPack and CES Selector
Close sales of CES EduPack and CES Selector
Arrange and run training courses for academics
Create and implement marketing campaigns
Attend and present at conferences in Germany and across Europe
Support the development of German Language Teaching Resources, working with
Granta’s Education Products Development Team
Special Attractions
Talk to leading academics passionate about materials education and research

About Education and Research at Granta Design
Granta’s involvement and impact on global materials and engineering education are significant
and growing rapidly. We have strong links with the University of Cambridge and other leading
universities, and focus on creating high quality software and teaching resources to support and
enhance materials teaching across, engineering, materials- and sustainability-related disciplines.
Our main education product, CES EduPack is well-known, highly respected, and is now widely
used throughout all years of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at higher education
institutions in Germany and over 1,000 universities and colleges worldwide. Our main academic
research product CES Selector is also being used by an increasing number of German institutions.
Anforderungsprofil
The Ideal Candidate
Has a passion for technology, education and research
Enjoys connecting people and networking
Has a track record of driving projects to successful completion i.e. founding a university
society or organising a conference
Is able to identify and develop new business opportunities
Is fluent in German (written and spoken) with a high level of English. Other language skills
are beneficial
Has excellent communication and organisation skills
Enjoys learning and quickly picks up new skills and technologies
Holds a Ph.D. in a Science or Engineering subject with a strong link to materials
Has at least 2-years of relevant work experience
