日本にホームステイに来た時に、
キャンパスを訪れました。
フリマをしている人がいたり、
ダンスをしている人がいたり、本当に自由な雰囲気が伝わって来て、
ここなら自分のや
りたいことができると思いました。2年生までは言葉の問題があったり、
周りとの画力の
差を感じたりすることも多くて、
想像してたような学生生活を全然送れなかったんですけ
ど、大学での活動やバイト・インターンを通して、
その壁を越えて行くことができました。

父の仕事の関係で、幼い頃に少しだけ日本に住んでいて、
その時に見たジブリアニメを
韓国に帰ってからもずっと見て育ちました。
それがきっかけで通い始めた美術高校が京
都精華大学と提携していて、1年生と3年生の時にオープンキャンパスを訪れました。
ポートフォリオを持参して、
アニメーションコースの先生からいろいろなフィードバック
をもらう中で、
基礎を大事にする姿勢にとても共感しました。大切な大学4年間の生活を、
京都という伝統的で個性豊かな町で過ごすのは、必ずいい刺激になるはずです。

Due to my father's work, I lived in Japan in my early years. During that short period

When I first came to homestay in Japan, I visited the campus. During my visit, I saw
people participating in activities such as flea-markets and dance events. This lively
atmosphere made me feel that I would be able to pursue freely what I desired. Up
until my second year, I ran into language barriers and lacked confident. However I
was able to overcome such obstacles gradually by actively engaging in school
activities, part-time jobs and internships. Now that I look back on it, compared to
my first year, I feel like I was a completely different person in my fourth year of
school. I believe that if you can muster the courage and take a proactive approach
family and I returned to Korea. This childhood memory was the reason I attended
an art high school affiliated with Kyoto Seika University. With my portfolio in hand,
I attended the open campus during my first and third year of high school to seek
feedback. One professor's comment that resonated the most to me was how
fundamentals are the most important. To spend four years of your college life in a
city that is both as culturally and characteristically rich as Kyoto is truly
stimulating. Just like the “Seishun” (youth) in Japanese dramas, I have been able to
live the college life that I had always imagined.
