Try to avoid using grammar and vocabulary that you have NOT learned IN CLASS, if possible. If you would like to use them, prepare a new grammar and vocabulary list. Words on the list must be large enough for the audience to see. If you use the board in your classroom to show new grammar and vocabulary to your classmates, you must write them BEFORE class begins. 5) Prepare 2 questions in case no one asks you any after your speech. On your 1-minute speech day 1) Write your name and the title BEFORE class begins. (Come to class early on your speech day.) 2) Looking at notes is NOT allowed during your speech. 3) Look at your audience during your speech. Audience As an audience, ask GOOD questions. There are NO make-ups for one-minute speeches. Negotiate with your classmates in advance if your assigned date does not work for you and let us know the change in advance. Remember: your one One-minute speech is 1% of your course grade. You are welcome and encouraged to come to our office to talk about your speech draft.
