Wissenswertes rund um Diamantpulver
Was ist eigentlich der Unterschied zwischen monokristallinem und
polykristallinem Industrie-Diamantpulver?
Monokristalliner Diamant
Monokristalliner Industriediamant (Einkristall) ist
relativ kostengünstig und in großen Mengen
herstellbar. Der Diamant weist eine monokristalline
Gitterstruktur auf, d.h. die Gleitebenen sind parallel
zur optischen Achse (111-Ebene) orientiert. Bei
Belastung bricht das monokristalline Diamantkorn
entlang der parallelen Spaltebenen. Hierdurch
entstehen Körner in blockiger Form mit scharfen
Schneidkanten (Salamischeibenmodell).
Polykristalliner Diamant
Ein polykristalliner Industriediamant (Vielkristall) ist aus
einer
Vielzahl
winziger
Diamantkörner
zusammengesetzt. Bei Belastung brechen kleine Ecken
und Kanten aus dem Diamantkorn heraus, so dass
immer wieder neue, scharfe Schneidkanten entstehen
(Selbstschärfungseffekt). Dank dieser einzigartigen
Charakteristik werden maximale Abtragsraten und

Wasser-, Lotus-, Öl- oder Alkoholbasis?
Hilfe bei der Auswahl
W (Wasserbasis): Auf Wasserbasis werden sowohl Pasten als auch Suspensionen
hergestellt. Das Poliermittel enthält ein Korrosionsschutzmittel und ist für die meisten
Anwendungen geeignet. Die Proben lassen sich einfach (ohne Lösemittel) reinigen.
WS (Wasserbasis mit Abperleffekt): Suspensionen auf Wasserbasis WS sind extra
dünnflüssig und besonders gut für Sprühautomaten und Dosiersysteme geeignet. Der
Lotusblüteneffekt verhindert, dass Düsen und Schläuche verkleben.
Zudem kann diese Suspension als leistungsstarke Two-in-One Suspension verwendet werden.
Ö (Ölbasis): Auf Ölbasis werden sowohl Pasten als auch Suspensionen hergestellt. Sie eignen
sich hervorragend für schnell rotierende Polierwerkzeuge, da das Poliermittel besser am
Werkstück haftet. Weitere Anwendung ist die wasserfreie Probenpräparation.
A (Alkoholbasis): Diese Suspension ermöglicht eine hohe Abtragsleistung aufgrund der
geringen Schmierfilmdicke. Sie ist besonders gut geeignet für korrosions- und
wasserempfindliche Materialien wie Gusseisen, Zinkschichten und Magnesiumlegierungen.

Wissenswertes zur Ultraschallreinigung
Das Funktionsprinzip bei der Ultraschallreinigung beruht auf Kavitation. Das vom
Frequenzgeber erzeugte Ultraschallfeld im Bereich von 20 kHz bis 2 MHz erzeugt
Wellen mit Über- und Unterdruck. Kavitation ist die Bildung und Auflösung von
kleinen Dampfblasen in Flüssigkeiten, hervorgerufen von Druckschwankungen.
An Verunreinigungen oder Rauhigkeitsunterschieden die als Keime wirken,
bilden sich Dampfblasen. Beim Implodieren dieser Dampfblasen schießt ein
Flüssigkeitsstrahl auf die zu reinigende Probe mit Drücken bis zu 100 bar. Diese
sich zyklisch bildenden und implodierenden Dampfbläschen reinigen auf
sanftem, mechanischem Wege die Oberfläche von Verunreinigungen.
